Which PC ports are "chugging" on the 360? You must be mistaking all the reported PS3 frame rate issues with the 360.
Fanboyism cuts both ways. If you haven’t noticed there are just as many Sony fan boys as there are 360, and IMO the Sony fanboys tend to be a bit more defensive and insulting. Just read some of the posts on this page. That said, this is a gaming site, not a PS3 site so I think most people that frequent this site enjoys reading about and researching all things to do with video gaming (PC,360,PS3,Wii,etc.). Just because someone favors one console over another doesn’t mean they should stop readi...
you should really get that anger problem checked out. All posts are just people’s opinions. We're still allowed to have those right? You sound like Bush and his gang of thugs trying to stifle debate. And that comment "If the 360 is so great, how come you have enough time to trawl through PS3 articles and slander them?" is just so old and childish. We don't play the 360 2/47. It's obvious that the insecure one is you by your anger and name calling.
The 360 version will be better simply because it will support the 360 racing wheel with full force feedback. The PS3 tilt functionality will be crap. The tables really have turned this generation.
If Sony is charging $600 to Americans, then why should they charge around $800 in the EU? Assuming it costs Sony the same amount to import to the US and UK, you would expect to pay the equivalent in each currency. That's an additional $200 Sony is making off of you blokes to subsidize the American and Japanese markets. I don't know why you people keep defending a corporation that keeps screwing you. I guess you just like it up the @$$.
Sony could launch the PS3 in Europe next week by shifting all the unwanted PS3 in the US to Europe. The Best Buy and Circuit city in NYC has plenty of them when I stoped by yesterday.
I completely agree with most of the comments about the iPhone or whatever they're going to be calling it. I think as with most of Apples products, it looks nice, but there are a lot of other devices that have better functionality at a lower price. And as a convergence device, with only 4 and 8GBs, I don't see people getting rid of their iPods or MP3 players, and watching videos may be neat, but battery life will be a problem. And not having the ability to install your own programs is a proble...
With it's limited quantity and weak launch lineup, I think that MS would have been better off if Sony had launched the PS3 in Europe as planned. Then Europeans would have actually been able to see what the PS3 is about instead of hearing Sony's hype. I think they would be just as disappointed with the system as many Americans and Japanese are as I hear many are returning them. It's easier battling an actual opponent rather than a perception.
You can't even find a dual layer BR disk and this is after 2 years. And the cost is going to be out of most peoples reach. This is just a technical demonstration, and will have no real world applications for many years. By that time maybe holographic disks will be ready.
Are you using dvdempire.com’s sales figures as your evidence that BR is outselling HD-DVD? Have you even tried to figure out how they came up with their figures? I could be wrong, but I think the percentages they show (44.5% HD-DVD, 55.5% BR) is based on 189 HD-DVD’s and 194 DR’s sold this past month. What a joke. It’s good to note that for the year HD-DVD’s sold 61.13% and BR 38.87%, and that HD-DVD has more titles (143) to BR’s (132).
Please get your facts straight: early Sony B...
You really don't make much sense with your Porche/Ferari argument. As TheMart points out, numerous comparisons of the two formats puts HD-DVD above Blu-ray. If you have evidence to the contary, post where we can read those reviews.
Yes, BR movies using the VC-1 codecs will probably produce the same quality video as HD-DVD, but unfortunately Sony has decided to use the old MPEG2 codec because VC-1 is a MS format. Studios are starting to realize the superior quality of VC-1 so th...
The additional space the 3x layer HD-DVD's isn't that much a factor for movies. Current HD-DVDs have more than enough space to hold a full movie that is in as good if not better quality (depending on Blu-Ray codec)than Blu-Ray disks, with better additional features. The additional space is good for data, but for movies, the dual layer is fine. The Blu-Ray camp keeps bring up how much better they are because of the additional space, but just like in PS3 games, it's not needed and probably not ...
The point that people are trying to make is that the developers of both RFOM and GOW have had the same amount of time with dev kits. The ps3 was supposed to be out November 05 then March 06, and I believe RFOM was supposed to be a launch title back then. Because they launched in November 06 they had extra time to polish the game, and about the same amount of development time as GOW.
If you look at their reviews, the 360 has a lot more games scoring higher than this one. Burnout also scored a 9 from this site. GOW got a 9.7. How many PS3 games are you playing? I hear the sony network went down LOL. And how many people are on it? Enjoy your free online service. I'll pay $50 a year for Live.
They had to give the PS3 something or else the Sony fanboys would start rioting and RFOM is the best the PS3 has.
For all the Sony boys saying the 360 had to wait a year before getting one good game, the 360 showed pretty well in this list. I think in 07 it'll do even better with titles like Allen Wake, BioShock and Halo3.
Who says HD-DVD can't support games? MS has decided not to use HD-DVD for games so as to nt force people from getting it, but just like the Blu-Ray, it's just a format to hold data. If it becomes standard in PC's, I'm sure you'll see games on it. And HD-DVD as of now is beating BR and also supports 1080p. Please get your information straight.
Just because the sales of the 360 did not meet this analyst's projections, he says they're disappointing and he doesn't know why. Just goes to show you analysts don't know much (I'm an analyst by profession). I believe the reason the PS2 continues to sell well is because like all consoles at the end of it's life cycle, price drops bring out bargain hunters. It also had a good library of games. It still may do well in 07 because of it's installed base so developers will continue to support it,...
It's obvious he's a mentally challenged little boy so just ignore him. I actually feel some pity for the little man.
If you want to play this game in all its visual glory, you'll have to get a high end PC or a $300 XBox 360. The best exclusives will be for the 360 so just jump in.
Live Anywhere is a planned XBox Live feature which will allow PC's and other Windows based devices to connect to Live. That means if this function is used, only 360 and PC gmaers will be able to play together. I highly doubt MS is going to let the PS3 join the fun. Sony or Epic is going to have to host their own servers for PS3 users.
