Portable is fine although I don't use it much but portable at the expense of graphics and frame rate etc? No thanks. To me progress is pushing the boundaries of what can be done in gaming not whether I can put it in my pocket or not.
Visually it's a love letter to NMS.
It would really benefit from a remake. Keep what made it special and add in everything they improved on in the subsequent games. Sounds great.
I'm assuming that Sony still like money. So yes there will be a PS5.
Having watched a gameplay video it looks to me like the core gameplay is solid and enjoyable, but there’s a real lack of personality to the game. It’s a tricky thing ripping off the sparse but rich lore style of Dark Souls, if you don’t get it right then you can be left with a hollow shell.
There’s some promise there but it needs a big injection of creativity.
Can you elaborate? It sounds alright from the preview.
I got this in a sale, getting a medium amount of enjoyment out of it. It’s competent and workmanlike and the world is well designed.
I’ve no doubt that technically it’ll be a good game but I’ve bought every game in the series and I get less interested with each one. There’s something boring about them.
I understand why some people don’t like it, to some it’s too hard, to others it’s too obscure. But to those who appreciate the dark and weird worlds that From create it’s a masterpiece. Personally I slightly prefer the original Dark Souls partly because it suits my play style more (tanking) but it’s their second best game to me and well deserving of best game of this generation.
Yeah I can see why amazing boss fight. My favourite was Poseidon, I think my jaw was literally hanging open at times. Hades next and a shout out to Helios for the way it ended. Cronos’ fingernail too, ouch.
Old 2D games have held up well, old 3D games not so much. It’s hard to enjoy the gameplay when they’re such eyesores but lots of 2D games being released now don’t look any better than the golden oldies. Gameplay wise it’s a mixed bag but most classic old games are classics for a reason.
My first was GOW3 and it blew my tiny mind. The sheer spectacle of it grabbed me and I loved the fluidity and depth of the gameplay not to mention the brutality. Think I’ve played all of them now, great series.
Strange how boxing games plummeted in popularity, the sport itself is still going strong as far as I know. There have been some great boxing games and it’s about time someone made another. I don’t like Mayweather but I’ll just beat him up rather than play as him.
They're doing more than just changing the mastery ranks of weapons it's pretty much wall to wall buffs. Loads of rarely used guns going from zero to hero.
At some point games will be photo realistic and at that point graphics literally can't get any better. We're not there yet but we're closer to that then we are 8 bit pixel graphics and the closer we get the less improvements we'll see from year to year.
Not everyone will get on with it but for me BB is the best game of this console generation.
I agree, ok their response to their game being panned wasn't as mature and considered as you'd hope but that deserves criticism less than an article blowing things out of all proportion and throwing around terms like "meltdown" because they know that bitchy articles get hits.
I've been a supporter of NMS from the first trailer and I put a lot of hours into it but honestly if I'd never bought it I wouldn't have missed much. Cool concept and beautiful visual/sound design but nothing meaningful or memorable to do.
This is the game I always think of when I see those 'games that deserve a sequel' articles. It'd be a bit gutting if it wasn't on PS4 though as that's all I've got.
It's hard not to read it as Decay of Legos.
