The sales gap is currently 5.4 million (sold, not shipped), with the 360 gaining 500,000 units on the PS3 in just the last month and a half. The Arcade Slim is coming, Halo: Reach is coming, and Kinect is coming. Even at the rate the PS3 was outselling the 360 before the 360 Slim came, it would have taken until at least the end of 2012 for it to finally surpass the 360. Now there is really no hope at all.

GT5's preorders have it on track to sell slightly less than the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2, which itself got outsold by the 360 version of MW2. Halo: Reach's preorders are currently outpacing MW2 360's. So there's pretty much no shot in hell that GT5 will outsell Halo: Reach this year. It's practically no competition.

It's due for release in 2012, and it will match and early 2008 game's graphics? Rockstar has already surpassed their own graphics from GTA IV with Red Dead Redemption... And the game sure as hell better not take place in Stilwater like the first two games.

The Wii-like Move motion controller is what's already been done. Kinect is fresh and new and opens up a whole lot of possibilities for developers.
The realism in GTA IV is what makes it easily the best game of this gen, and tied for the second highest-rated game of all time. I know Rockstar would never bring the realism back down, because they kept it in Red Dead Redemption, to an even higher extent, and they know it's what makes their games stand out from the rest.
I bet it will sell 5 million in its lifetime on the 360. It is a 360 exclusive after all, not a PS3 exclusive, so that's entirely possible.
