I played the beta. It was solid. I've watched all the videos. They look fantastic. But until I play the actual game, I can't assume anything. The only way to be sure is by playing THE FULL GAME. Otherwise it's just a bunch of wishful thinking and fanboy speculation.

I have this weird thing I do which is actually play games before I call it a game of the year. I don't know what it is.
The problem is that there is a difference between getting kills and being GOOD in COD 4. Sure anyone can get kills, but skilled players have tons of things to make that spread greater. The game requires skill to be GOOD at it.
Still play it nearly 2 years later. Why? Because it's fun. I love that people say it requires no real skill.
That's why they need a lobby system. Or they need to save a spot for you in the game and tell you what the score is and how much time is left. And if you join a game in progress as it is now you go into spectate mode and if you're losing you don't join. After 2 minutes you get kicked back to your party lobby without taking a loss.
I definitely don't think people who suck should be able to rank up.
The ONLY time I die from Martyrdom is if I'm trapped when it drops. Martyrdom is still being complained about 2 years later. You'd think people would learn to either throw it or not charge in when you drop someone.
You don't have enough friends to fill up the 6 slots? I wouldn't have any problem finding a lobby where that wouldn't happen. Sorry about your luck.

I'm one of the people that have always maintained that a PS3 needed a much more affordable price for it to contend with MS. I've had my PS3 going on 2 years and my 360 for 3. I do agree with the ranking system thing though. I can't tell you how many high ranking players I play against that are just awful.
My main concern is the matchmaking system. It's antiquated and completely works against you if you just want to jump on, sans friends, and play a few games. 9 times out of 10 I get teamed up with people with no mics, no concept of team play, or no skill. What am I talking abou...
It looks like Rockstar added base jumping to the game. Now that's one less thing for people who complained about GTAIV not having ridiculous elements of the past games to complain about.
People keep saying a 500gig HDD would be pointless. If you think about what's available these days that 500g will go fairly fast. You can rip disc based games to the HDD, download whole current gen games to it, DL HD movies, games, music and all kinds of other media. These things eat up HDD space like you wouldn't believe so a HDD of that size is very useful.
This goes for the PS3 as well.

I remember a few months ago I was for a price drop so more people could enjoy the PS3 and I was harassed by a fanboy via PM who said something about how not everyone should be able to afford a Ferrari.

Splinter Cell is a great, successful and critically acclaimed series. Not to mention that by all accounts Conviction is going to be another success in the series. It helps if you know what you're talking about before you say something. Well, it helps you. The rest of us kind of just laugh.

This might be the first WWe game I buy and PLAY since Here Comes the Pain. I'm into this create a storyline mode. It's about time. Now if they let me make Shane Douglas, I'll be extremely pleased.

This game is going to sell incredibly well. And on 3 platforms especially: PC, 360, and PS3. It's gonna do HUGE numbers. No matter how few of you decide you're not buying. Me? Day one purchase and I can't wait.
