Silly gamer, you seemed to have mixed up the PS process and the Xbox process. The xbox process is the one that works like a person would expect in 2021. The PS process is a train wreck.

Um, yes, the point of comment sections is to voice an opinion, jackass.

I'm just tired of this entire thing. If you have something announce it. But this is just childish and not creative at this point. At this point, whatever it is I won't be buying it.

Or even better, that fact that it will have fidelity FX so you could render at a lesser resolution and upscale. So many options. Unfortunately console warriors cannot think outside of the closed ecosystem box they live in. They argue daily about specs and performance in which they have no control and can't comprehend that you can adjust settings to your liking on a PC.

It's also worth noting that this will likely include AMD's DLSS option, Fidelity FX. In theory, if you choose, you could render at say 540p and have it upscale resulting in nearly identical visuals, along with higher frame rates and better battery. Again, this is a PC, watching all the console warrior jump in here and prove they have no understanding is HILARIOUS.

@specialguest. Also battery power isn't unlimited more power take more battery. It's a constraint in every handheld. For some reason gamers think you can have 60fps, to resolutions, all the bells and whistles, and great battery. It's not how it works.but again. This is what happens when people think they have technical acumen just because they play video games.

Lol.

People down voting this are idiots. This is what happens when console gamers who think they have technical acumen try to talk about hardware. You can adjust it to your liking.

Don't forget insomniac. They had a huge sexual harassments situation.

Ummmm, but you could buy this and install windows and get the best of both. Why do gamers always need to talk about what "beats" what?

As publicly traded companies it's either they sell and potentially get more, or tencent initiates a hostile takeover and buys at least 51% of the shares. These companies might not even be amicable to the buy out but opt to take it because hostile takeovers are terrible.

It's not a niche just because it's targeted to the early adopter segment of their entire market. Just because the steam app is free and some of those users might be "casual" don't marginalize the possible reach. The only company going completely "main stream" at the this stage is MS with game pass streaming on phones and soon TVs. But these early launches are always targeted at the current user base. But hitting 120 million users, free app or not, it about a...

Of course. Which is the case for every single hardware release. Launch adoption is always intended for the "hardcore" core audience. Retaining and/or marketing to to those users is key. But that's not exclusive to Steam. That applies to Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft.

At it's 720p resolution, absolutely. Docked, time will tell. Also hilarious are people calling this out as some niche product for the hardcore. Steam has 120 million active users a month. This could be a huge win for Valve. If 120 million active users isn't main stream enough for people, then those people are asshats. PC gaming is more main stream than any other console by active user count.

LOL, this after everyone basically shitting on E3 for the last half decade. Pachter is a contrarian, not an analyst.

People will write articles about literally anything. What a waste of time.

The switch in 2021 probably costs nintendo less than $100 to manufacture and I bet they actually saved money moving to an oled due to availability. A tegra x1 came out in 2015 and is likely cost Nintendo under $25 a chip.

1804d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Fair points. Yes, the switch should be able to at the very least output 4k, and for the most part Nintendo is trash, but people continue to pay it. Until people stop buying 7 year old tech at a premium this is what they will deliver.

1804d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

The nvidia shield absolutely cannot do native 4k. SMH. Gamers sometimes. All of the upscaling also takes battery power, there are alot of concessions that would need to to be made in the switch to keep it cool, provide battery that can last, and power modern dlss chips. It's not a trivial solution to drop that much tech in a handheld. ESPECIALLY at a price people would accept.

Actually, I care more about how moronic the average gamer and games coverage has become and wish it was better. That's why I commented.
