Wait for unreal 4... this is one of those in-between engines. Unreal 4 will not run on current gen so that should be a sign of big changes.

Running into the 1080p problem where it defaults to 24hz and you can't do anything about it.

Upgrade only happens every 3-4 years if you buy decent to high end items. Rocking a 8350 stock with a 680gtx and it's pounding the hell out of everything right now... doesn't mean I'm going to upgrade again tomorrow.

It's takes 2-3 years for the industry to catch up with the Tech... If the new consoles do come out with a 7870 it'll antiquate a lot of older cards because I'm sure the minimal specs for gaming on PC will shoot up 2 generations after maybe the first or second year of it them being out.

First time PC has been this far ahead of the curve and they haven't even released anything but rumors. I think a 1.6ghz clock is pathetic... sure optimization is a thing but that clock on a PC would be laughable unless it was a laptop.
The new consoles look to be getting rid of the compatibility problems of this generation. The rumored specs are similar... so game development won't be hindered for any console or platform. Good news is that they'll share more in common with PC than any other console released to date so I think we'll be seeing a lot more releases coming up. Piracy will eventually even out if internet speeds stay the same... once they drop DVD the games will pick up in size until it takes a week to...

I'm with him. Halo 3's cut scenes looked stiff and awkward... can't compare direct details considering of course halo 3 looks better but MGS looks like it had more dedication.
