Perhaps not, but it WAS kind of common sense. Before people start throw a fit, I'm not saying the consumer is as guilty as the publisher, but rather that the consumer is at least partially to blame for a situation such as this. Because they factually are, that's indisputable.
The 'Sim' franchise as owned by EA is, probably the largest franchise in gaming (with 'The Sims' as a series being the fifth most successful, or fourth if you disregard the Ninten...
By the way, don't love Google either. Google is a company that is trying to monopolize everything at a cheap cost, thereby giving you a crap service. And, of course, nobody would have the money to go up against Google, anyway.
Google screwed over YouTube. And they hand over your search information, sent-received email to the US government. They are a huge corporation. And there's not a single good corporation out there. It's about the money. Don't you forget t...
Wow. Holy crap. Now, don't get me wrong, I knew this site had a lot of Sony fans, but I didn't know so many of them would be THAT willing to through common knowledge out of the window.
Crysis 3, as much as I despise the damn game, is still THE best looking game on the market. The fact that some of the highest-end computers can only run it at around 30 frames maxed out certainly attributes to that fact. The textures, models, and advanced DX11 effects are just mindboggl...
Wow, people seem to forget how fantastic Lords of Shadow was. I mean, jeez, it's not like it's Hammerpoint saying this.
Honestly, I don't think they have all that far too go. Like cochise said, as long as they continue working hard and don't gloss over any of the game's problems, it could very much be a game as good as Uncharted (and that's high praise coming from someone who lists Uncharted 2 as one of his top 5 games ever).
...
Did you seriously just call Skyrim an advanced game?
Oh, dear Lord, I'm gonna go take some medication now, maybe a nap, too...
Why would they use PhysX? Have you SEEN what PhysX can do? http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Enjoy.
@Imalwaysright
Man, a good console crash could be exactly what we need.
If any company wanted to do well in it, there'd be no choice BUT to be nice little pro-consumer "good guys." At least until the industry built itself back up and they'd forget why they were successful during the crash. :P
Honestly, though, some of the terrible business practices need to end. A lot of this crap includes things that should've been in the base ...
For those of you who didn't quite get it, he was making a joke similar to the whole "Far Cry 3 is 'Skyrim with guns'" thing.
I can't believe so many people didn't get the joke.
Yeah, Bethesda cares so much that they'd release a game (one that could've definitely been held back) in an unplayable state on PS3 after a while and have some terrible PC port shoved out with mod tools so that modders can do they work THEY should've done.
Bethesda cares so much that they threw Zombie STudios off of Rogue Warrior and gave Rebellion any time at all to create an entirely new game from scratch.
They care so much that they'd put a...
We'd be willing to give it a chance if it didn't look so absolutely bland. :/
I am kind of concerned about the game's writer, however: Jessica Chobot. Really? Here's hoping she's a better writer than she is a voice actress.
Anyway, Zombie Studios has been good lately. It's nice to see how a company can go from the average Spec Ops games to the rather terrible Blacklight Tango Down and then make themselves so much better by learning from their mistakes. I'm looking forward to the game, actually. Here's hoping that a studio named ...
You realize TimeGate did about as much work as it as Gearbox did, right? You can't play the "They outsourced it!" thing, because Gearbox did amount 40% - 50% of the work.
And, really? Who the hell cares THAT MUCH for Borderlands 3? Borderlands 2 was pretty much the first game with a few minor improvements. That's not a bad thing, but it's not like this is Beyond Good and Evil 2 here.
And, no, don't say, "They needed more time!&q...
I'd actually play that... Architecture games are few and far between as it turns out (I don't even think one exists). :/
Well, your conspiracy is plausible with the exception of "Making people think that the Wii U is only capable of having graphics that good" bit. Anybody that isn't an Autistic, Down syndrome-ridden blind person knows for a fact that a computer from 3 - 4 years ago could look better than any console version.
So while it might make sense from the standpoint of, "The Wii U has the best looking console version," as a whole the whole thing would fall flat on...
@Ultr
Portal's also a puzzle game where cooperation is key. DayZ isn't that.
Noooooo, that would never work. Remember Shadowrun? Cross-play between PC and 360? Console gamers were getting completely messed up.
Then there's the problem with community. Let's just say that there's a reason I cancelled my Xbox LIVE subscription several years ago. The words "fag," (and its variants) "s**t," "f**k," (and its variants" and the intense amount of whining may or may not have contributed to my cancelling it. From wh...
Haha, that actually made me laugh. Typically, N4G comments make me facepalm, so good job. :)
@BattleAxe
Oh, I don't disagree. As a company, I actually dislike CryTek quite a bit. I'm just looking at things from the point of view of someone who's job is to make money by making/publishing games. If Warface does turn out to be good and gains a community, then they could make money. If they don't, it's not going to be CryTek's downfall. Simple as that.
What does Sony have to do with Crytek putting out their own F2P game?
Actually, no, they pulled it out of the game and will sell it to you later.
