Yeah, I did that. And you also helped me prove my point. There's no reason that I should get anything less than 60 with the computer I have. Just sayin'.
Despite the seemingly poor PC optimization (I have a high-end PC, yet can't hit 60 frames on medium settings?), the game was very much a good game. I'd love to see a sequel.
So... an announcement of a forthcoming announcement? 0_o
Excuse me? I just played through the Half-Life 2 saga last month for the first time (yeah, I'm a bit late to the party) and I had no problem with it. It's aged VERY well, for your information...
I certainly hope this means an announcement or just SOMETHING soon. Then again, who doesn't want something HL3 related?
I find it stupid that so many British people are getting offended over it. Let's face it, British people at that time were, for the lack of a better word, bullies. They had power and they abused it. They were not fantastic people who would do no wrong, they were people who were trying to dominate other people.
Why Brits today are throwing a fit about the fact that their ancestors were pricks is beyond me. It's not like this impacts their lives. Besides, I thought Brit...
Agreed. That full year has had those two neck and neck for most of this generation. Sony isn't going to let that happen again, I assure you.
We already know Ready at Dawn's making a next-gen third-person action-adventure game (why do I suspect something... God of War-like?), Guerrilla's working on two titles, one of which is Killzone 4, Naughty Dog has the entire team of Uncharted doing something, and Insomniac must be doing another game besides R&C: Full Fron...
You know, I really wouldn't mind Call of Duty on PC so much as long as they raised the FOV to acceptable levels (MW3 was 65, though Black Ops could go up to something like 80 or 85, so yay-ish for Treyarch), made sure mouse acceleration wasn't forced, and if they FIXED ALL THOSE TERRIBLE IMBALANCES.
Let's face it, Black Ops made some good strides. I'm going to wait and do some research and, if the game is more balanced and some of those terrible perks are gone...
I'd just say it was mediocre. TotalBiscuit summed up my feelings on Skyrim perfectly with a line that I'm probably paraphrasing: "Skyrim is as big as an ocean, but has the depth of a kiddie pool."
Besides, I personally feel like Daggerfall and Morrowind were more fun, but that's my opinion. I just didn't go through Skyrim while being impressed. :/
How would I go about f***ing you sideways? I'm just curious, because my girlfriend says that all the time and, for the life I me, I can't ever figure out what she wants me to do. Do I f*** her in the waist? Do I turn her sideways and do some awkward attempt at f***ing her that way? I'm so confused!
Thanks,
A curious reader
XD
You think that's the worst AI? Let me tell you, there are so many games with worse AI (*cough* Rogue Warrior *cough* that the MW3 enemies look like Einstein in comparison.
Let's see, you hate Gears? Okay, but there's only been three games. It doesn't need to die. Uncharted? 4 games, which includes Golden Abyss. Bored of Ghost Recon? Only been three games this generation, once again. AC, FF, and CoD are perhaps a bit more understandable to dislike, but to want these series to die is just a stupid thing to say. If he wanted to say, "Franchises I Hope Will Take A Break Soon" or "Have More Time Put Into Them", I would understand. But...
If they are good sequels, I certainly do. If Gears isn't there, many other games will copy the style to see if it can fill that empty void. We might as well have the best version of the type of gameplay, plain and simple.
And poorly-implemented? Out of the list that's here, Call of Duty, Angry Birds, and Assassin's Creed are the only ones that have "poorly-implemented" sequels. Even Assassin's Creed is at least shooting for the stars for this one, so...
What a trolling, flamebait article with absolutely nothing good about it. "There's a popular series, I hope it dies."
No, seriously, look at the list here:
Halo
Assassin's Creed
Gears of War
Final Fantasy
Angry Birds
Ghost Recon
Uncharted
Call of Duty
And the author lists no good explanation for any of these, really, so...
It'd be strange if the next Call of Duty game was Call of Duty: Biblical Warfare, which has $30 DLC that contains a huge battle where David kills Goliath and the obligatory controversial scene where you play as one of the Romans crucifying Christ.
Strangely enough, it'd actually kind of fit, now that I really think about it. A few less guns than usual, but even Super Noah's Ark 3D had you using a slingshot. XD
Agreed. In Bioshock, Andrew Ryan bashed religion whenever he could, but that helped to solidify his character and beliefs. I didn't feel that it "crossed the line" as it complemented him and his Ayn Rand viewpoints.
Also, great job on remembering FMA: B. Too many people don't seem to know about that, from my experience.
I don't think it's up to us to decide whether religion should be in games or not. If people are offended about the inclusion of religion in their games, they need to suck it up. If I, a Christian, had a Muslim main character, I wouldn't bitch about it. However, if they made said character go around killing Jews and Christians or whatever, I could understand but successful games aren't the ones that pull that crap.
In the end, it's up to developers to decid...
Yes, that's much better. XD
Agreed. I'm a flat-out Obsidian fanboy and I know it. Of course, I'm a fanboy for a reason and denying the teams skill because publishers are CONSTANTLY f**king them over is stupid.
In my opinion, Obsidian is the greatest RPG developer out there. Unfortunately, they never get enough time to show EVERYONE that.
Oh, and I'd say that Daggerfall is better than Morrowind, but that's just me. Arena was a failure, though. So much went wrong with that...
You need to replay it with the patch that added in Uncharted 2's aiming model if you want to try something that's smoother and a bit faster. With it, I died less than half the times on Crushing than I did on Normal with the original model.
