I don't know where you were, but there was a lot of hype and interest for the wiiu by the Nintendo fanboys just like the switch. They showcased zelda just like they did with switch on the wiiu and showed off 3rd party support.

Yeah. Core means 'main' or 'the most'
Like in "the core elements of the..." "The core aspects of..." or "their core audience" or etc.
And besides even if you are a hardcore gamer doesn't mean you will buy everything out there. Even crap games and kids games and mobile casual games and etc.
"For everyone" means the casual crowd. The wii crowd as you will.
They can say all they want it's for everyone. But the truth is, it isn't. It's not for console gamers. Instead of doing one thing really well. It's trying to do 3 things at once, haphazardly. Well smartphones already broadcast to tv's. The dock isn't needed. My s7 broadcasts netflix and cravetv at 1080p and the mobile games as well.
It was said they will have shipped 2 million by end of March. End of March! That means there is even less copies going to be out on launch and even less copies out for pre-order.
The reason it's sold out everywhere is because they have only a couple of thousand pre orders world wide.

Can't blame the developers. It's the suits at Activision that push for a yearly release. And the devs are under pressure to make the game different than the other iterations but still stay true to the cod formula.
The camera and the controls were very annoying. But I really liked the game and it's mystique and intrigue. It's puzzles were fun and it told a great story without narrative.
My personal opinion of the game is 8/10
Awesome. Shadow of mordor was a very fun game to play.
