Yeah, maybe we should all accept that Sony's lawyers know more about this stuff than the n4g commenters.
@siyrobbo
Not really. Those shipped because they were sold to retailers, who buy based on demand. It doesn't matter all that much that not all of those copies have been sold yet to customers.
Sony doesn't need to chase up retailers to know exactly what's been sold. Almost all figures are shipped.
I actually like Killzone more than Killzone 2. It tried to do too much for the time, but I thought it was far stronger than the sequel when it came to story and characterisations as well as variety in environments and missions.
Playing as the 4 different characters, who actually had relationships, was really cool. Liberation was really cool too. The narrative of KZ2 disappointed me but KZ3 looks absolutely amazing since the story trailer. Can't effing wait!
I'd have to agree really, I'm interested in the 3DS for sure. I want to see what Sony pulls off with the PSP2 before I consider buying it though. That and the fact that this year on home consoles alone is pretty much the biggest ever...
I can't help but think that about most games... they're pure class.
Oh man this needs to happen so badly.
Running away from a T Rex on your horse, it roaming around Blackwater... would be so awesome!
I personally think 2009 was a better year, but 2011 is going to be pretty much the best thing ever. Even if a bunch of games get delayed.
I'd have to go with Uncharted 3, Portal 2, Mass Effect 3. Skyrim and Infamous 2. But that's just scratching the surface of next year, it's going to be insane.
LBP has an *average* review score of 95. There's no massive conspiracy when it comes to PS3 exclusives. Most of them review very very well. Next year I can only imagine there will be a huge number of high scorers given the quite frankly ridiculously awesome line up Sony has.
From what I've seen DS2 is completely an action adventure with a few scares. I didn't find the original scary after the first section because of how overpowered you were, even on the hardest difficulty. Dead Space 2 looks even more focused on set pieces which just isn't what I want from a horror game.
I guess I'm still interested but not nearly as hyped for it as I am for Uncharted 3, Infamous 2, Skyrim, Portal 2 or even Gears 3.
I'm sort of annoyed that I have to choose between versions tbh. I much prefer PS3 and trophies etc but I suppose it makes more sense continuing my story from ME1 and ME2...
I might pick up 2 and 3 when they're really cheap!
@Kurisu
The Event is simply awful. Just... Awful.
I'm expecting most sites to choose Mass Effect 2 or Red Dead Redemption tbh
I personally prefer Modern Warfare 2. It's certainly no CoD4 but I thought it was miles better than Blops.
They're both fairly ridiculous but Blops tried to have a serious, layered story and failed for me. And had pretty much no memorable moments.
I'd have to disagree with Gears being one of the two best new franchises this gen. I really like the games but they're definitely nowhere near Uncharted level quality.
It's ultimately a bit too repetitive and shallow to be one of my favourite franchises. Horde mode is great fun with a friend but nothing Gears has done comes close to Uncharted 2's set pieces.
I'll never get this attitude, firstly reviews are opinions. Secondly they grade them very well generally, often higher than other outlets.
Sly collection- 8.5, Joe Danger- 9.5, ModNation- 9, GOW3- 9.4, Heavy Rain- 9, Ratchet ACIT- 9, Demon's Souls- 9.4, U2- 9.5, MGS4- 10, LBP- 9.5, inFamous- 9.2 , KZ2-9.2 and god knows what else.
Actually from now on there will only be one review from IGN for each game. They're getting rid of the multiple review system and GT5 happens to be reviewed by one of the UK staff.
They don't really need camera control tbh, MGS3 didn't have it until subsistence and worked perfectly.
That includes PSP games I think
Yeah I'd hardly class Alan Wake as a Lair or Too Human style flop.
It may not have sold all that much but I really enjoyed it and plenty of others did too.
