I think that'd be great too, seeing the crazy things they could do while not tethered by real world logic. Their set pieces are already mind boggling!
You're probably right because of the work Santa Monica does for other Sony studios and the advancement of technology.
In terms of pure game development I'd say ND has the edge. They're important because Uncharted is a game that gets everyone's attention and is an automatic GOTY contender/ system seller. GOW3, while awesome, didn't reach that level within the gaming media.
Yeah hard core was kinda tough but really you just have to learn the game.
The fact that I managed to get that platinum probably means it's far from the five the hardest!
I don't think they should scrap Uncharted, although they should let it rest for a little bit after Uncharted 3.
I'd prefer they created a new IP rather than another Jak game. Maybe an action game less constrained by the real world. I'd love to see the kind of insane set pieces they could do in a sci fi setting for example.
I have to go
#1 Uncharted 3
#2 Skyrim
#3 Arkham City
#4 Assassin's Creed
#5 Battlefield 3
Such an awesome year.
Yeah because Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker are photorealistic...
I'd definitely have put Uncharted water in the list. Especially after seeing the E3 Uncharted 3 demo.
I'd disagree actually, I was disappointed by the press conferences but the complete games line up was incredible this year.
The live demos on IGN and Gametrailers etc were far better than the past couple of years to me. It's just a shame there weren't many surprises.
I'm really surprised that Nintendo didn't learn from the PSP that a second stick is important...
You might be able to buy the controller for $100...
As far as I'm concerned PS3 has by far the best line up this year and is doing well in sales despite the PSN outage.
I'd say it has momentum.
I really don't think Jade Raymond being attractive added 6 or 7 million sales...
Ask the overwhelming majority of people who bought the game who she is and they'll have no idea. The game sold because of an interesting concept and a marketing blitz not a woman in interviews.
I can't imagine that Microsoft will stop Skype on all non-Microsoft products. Skype's main selling point is that it's universally available almost.
If MS start limiting it Skype will start to falter, but then what the hell do I know? :)
Patches are separate, you can download patches right now despite the PSN being down.
Erm... No.
Braid is there, just between Shadow Complex and Castle Crashers
I tend to be in the minority but I felt the jump from AC2 to ACB to be more significant. It didn't add as many features really, but overall it felt to me like what the other games were aiming at.
That being said I do hope they ease off and do a game every couple of years and make sure the series progresses and improves.
I don't think there's a right or wrong really. I'm glad the industry has so much variety in storytelling, from Portal to something far more rigid like Heavy Rain and the Uncharteds in between.
I love all of those games, as long as a game handles it well I don't honestly care if it tries to be cinematic or not.
There's an HD version available on gametrailers if anyone's yet to see it.
Me too, I haven't had my 360 hooked up for a couple of months now and the only thing i can see changing that this year is Mass Effect 3.
Not that it's an exclusive... I just want to stick continue my story.
Well to be fair, the year head start argument would be weak if 360 had sold as much as the Wii but it hasn't.
I'd also argue that Sony won two generations because of games, not the brand. That being said, using the year head start as an argument against the 360's success is quite silly too. Who knows what would have happened if they released at the same time? PS3 was still very expensive.
