Are you kidding? How is this not news? This is exactly what the industry needs if it wants to be taken seriously.
I'm always reading stories about Mila Kunis picking up a new DVD player, Paris Hilton's brand new CD player and David Hasselhoff buyi- Oh wait. No. This is retarded. My mistake.

Only let Criterion touch it now... Let them alternate between Burnout and NFS or something like that.

I agree that the review going on Metacritic's a bit off. But I don't have a problem with someone reviewing the single player alone if they clearly state it.

Are you being racist there?

This might be true for many people but I'm happy with both. I don't want gaming to become entirely Deus Ex style narratives that can't really have satisfying pacing.

But really I find Uncharted infinitely more narratively satisfying than Deus Ex was. I didn't think the plot was very interesting, the characters certainly weren't.

How are you supposed to make up your own mind without playing it?
You have every right to ignore any site's reviews or recommendations but they exist for a reason. Not everyone can buy every game that might be good.

I'm judging that, yes, it is a coincidence.

While I agree that the navigation wasn't much of an issue for me I think he has a point with the other two.

Hugo Strange wasn't in the game at all. I never built a connection to him or thought of him as any more dangerous than the other villains.
Also the boss fights were pretty bad at times. I'd say the Solomon Grundy fight was worse than anything in Arkham Asylum.

From the videos shown so far it feels like just as big a leap to me.
Probably a combination of the much larger scale and the huge improvements to animation and physics.

Yeah I thought he was being more general about it. Talking about how much more there is to do now to get into a game.
Logos on start up, possibly an update, the console menu, game update, game logos etc.

That's not necessarily true, I'm pretty sure Uncharted 2 has sold about 5 million copies.

Not sure how much Dead Island has sold but I doubt it's that high. It's also only a million less than the gears games have sold. So given that Uncharted 2 sold much better than the original, Uncharted 3 could sell really well.

I'm certainly skipping it for a bit this year. No way I'm juggling it with Batman, Uncharted 3 and Skyrim.

Yep, me too. Not necessarily #1 in most rounds but I'm usually near the top and I NEVER blind-fire.
I tend to aim and use the G-Mal, been working well so far.

I think they're including iPod touches and iPads because they share many of the games.
Still, the iDevices have had a huge impact in terms of games but they rely on impulse buys mainly. There won't be an Uncharted or Skyrim scale game, nor will there be a game of their price selling millions of copies.

A 10/10 doesn't mean it's perfect! It never has.

I don't get why a Horde mode would make you dislike FPS games. It's clearly an extra and one that I personally really enjoy, especially when you want to just hang around with friends.

5238d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

Absolutely. I can't bloody wait for those three. It's a shame that they're all quite so close to each other.
I want to lose myself in each for hours. Possibly millions of hours in Skyrim's case.

That might be true from a business perspective but from a gamer's I can't see it as a positive.
Sony develop the vast majority of their exclusives with first party studios as opposed to buying exclusivity. Ignoring the console war that just results in more games, many of which are great.
So I can't see why someone wouldn't want MS to create more studios and make more games.

I agree, it's a weird point to make. He wants new games rather than sequels but focuses on games not getting sequels as a problem...
A huge number of the biggest games around are new to this generation anyway.
