You sir, deserve a bubble for "well said".
I couldn't have put it better myself. If you sell your TV to the pawn shop and someone else buys it, the TV maker doesn't get paid again. If you buy a used Bluray, that studio nor Sony gets compensated. Why should publisher's dictate what I do with a game that I purchase?
I don't know about anyone else I bubbled up your for that comment. No, fanboyism, just facts.
to look below the title....
“That’s up to Their Relationship With the Consumer”
Like I've been saying, third party can use DRM at their own peril. We, as consumers, have the power hurt certain practices using our pocket books. From what we heard last night, Microsoft is going to be hurting.
I must admit, I did like TitanFall (available on PC too) but if you'd ever play Starhawk then you've seen it before on a much larger scare. D...
approached them with a ton of money and the DRM idea.
I have a SONY HX959 LED/LCD ready to plug it up to.
How about the fact that if you're already a PS+ subscriber getting PS4, you're guaranteed a game a launch? Albiet it's a digital copy but it's a hell of alot better than what Microsoft is offering. I'll take a guaranteed game over empty promises any day. You also receive 3 indie games too. That's easily $120.00 value day one in content but just having a PS+. You add it up, PS+ technically already paid for itself and then some.
Four Forza releases to only 2 Gran Turismo releases. The difference is only 190,000 and this is according to VGchartz numbers.
is an anamorphic resolution. 1440x1080 and 1280x1080 are both 1080p resolution used save bandwidth. "P" stands for progressive scans and "I" stands for interlaced (ever other line). Know what you're talking about, instead of spewing nonsense. 1280x1080p is in fact 1080p

really?
"Poor Polyphony. No sooner had they announced Gran Turismo 6 after taking their sweet time before Microsoft arguably punctured all the excitement with Forza Motorsport 5.
Of course, there's always been bickering between the two rival franchise, but there's a significant difference this time: FM5 will benefit from being a shiny next gen title on Xbox One, whereas GT6 is still clinging to the PS3. I therefore can’t help but worry that histo...
"OK so obviously you have internet service, but X1 isn't forcing you to game online, it just verifies your games are legit once every 24hrs in the background, you don't have to drive to Redmond and check in everyday."
aka
"we treat our consumers like they're all criminals."
Not everyone has internet connection. For those who do have, there will always be downtimes when NODE is overloaded. Good luck with your ...
you checked in with your console? you know, before it ceases to actually be a console. All these games will be available on Xbox One and the current generation. None of these justify upgrading to next gen. Killzone: SF, Infamous:SS, and DriveClub are but a few that actually warrant people's attention towards next gen.
For me, I'm definitely buying Killzone day one
to be 1080p@60fps? This E3 teaser is only 720p
Microsoft has come in last place this gen and the one before it. Why would Sony or Nintendo follow Microsoft's practices? Sony has stated that PS4 is not always online. Nor will ps4 force DRM with EVERY game (Xbox One). I do not support paying a publisher twice for a single copy of a game.
People like to say that Microsoft forced a broadband connection for Xbox Live when the first Xbox launched. Guess what people, Microsoft only sold 20 million of those things. PS2 didn...
NEVER FORGET:
1. ALWAYS ONLINE
2. 24HR CHECK IN
3. WATCH LIVE TV BUT YOU STILL NEED YOUR CABLE BOX
4. GAMING BRICK IF YOU DON'T CHECK IN
5. BYE BYE MOM AND POP STORE USED GAMES
6. YOU DON'T OWN YOUR GAME
7. CANCELLING ROUNDTABLES
Sony in with Microsoft. Sony plans on continuing what already in place (Online Pass System). Microsoft is dictating who you sell your games to (gamestop, best buy). Not even in the same ballpark.
is right in the sense that, you don't need to purchase a ps4 to send a message. But by buying the competitors product over theirs would send a louder message. Buying a ps4 would actually be boycotting Xbox One.
If PS4 install base greatly outpaces Xbox One, in order for developers to survive, they'd have to bring their games to Ps4.
Xbox One: No internet, no gaming. PFFt
is not an always online system.

Shuhei Yoshida in regards to ps4 being always online.
"Did we consider it? No, we didn't consider it," Yoshida said. "The main reason being that many countries don't have robust Internet connections. It makes sense for people to have Internet connecti...
continue to lump Sony in with garbage. With Xbox ONE you HAVE to be connected at least once every 24 hours. If you fail to check in the you cannot play games offline at all. IF you're using your account on another Xbox One, you're can only access your library for 1 hour. After the 1 hour has passed your have to ping Microsoft's servers again.
PS4 doesn't need to be online at all to play video games. Neither does the Wii U. This is the key difference for them ...
and then trade it in towards the purchase of a new one, does the original car maker get paid? No, they don't. So what makes the video game industry so special? Why are people trying to defend this like it's how it should be? If people just lie down and take it, of course corporations will walk all over them.
@papashango,
The are still many parts in American that don't have a broadband infrastructure. Get out of your little bubble where you think ...
If I'm correct, we were told to wait until E3 to get answers to pending questions. They had no problem doing a round table, right after the initial announcement. Hell didn't break loose until reports started coming in from Kotaku and Neogaf.
Why would they be waiting on Sony's response? Sony's stated that Disc-based DRM is up to publishers. They've also said that their console doesn't require an internet connection at all. Even if this were the case, S...
There not even in the same hemisphere. Sony leave the option up to publishers. "That's up to the publishers and their relationship with the consumer", said Jack Tretton. On PS4, 3rd party don't have to have DRM at all. On Microsoft, even if the publisher doesn't put in on their game, Microsoft will put DRM on regardless.
No, 3rd party can only restrict the online portion of the game, ala Online Pass. Given the reaction from gamers at Sony's press con...
