You're talking about multiplatform titles which only ran better on Xbox360 because of it's easier architecture. But demanding game like GTA 5 and Battlefield 3 get a lot more mileage out of the RSX thanks to the CELL performing some of the rendering (simple geometry).
If you were to move on to exclusives, the difference is like night and day. Gran Turismo plows over Forza(1080p>720p). It took Microsoft all the away until halo 4 to get it true 720p not upscaled. Kil...
Yeah sure, sure they do. I have still yet to see a shader heavy 1080p title on Xbox 360. Why is Gran Theft Auto's lead platform PS3? Why was Battlefield 3's lead console platform PS3? Gran Turismo, God of War 3(still), Killone 2&3, Infamous, and The Last of Us make the case for Sony. Xbox 360 best looking game was Gear of war 3 and it could have been done on ps3. Just ask Rocksteady and the Batman Arkham series.
casuals hardly buy the most expensive consoles lol.
DayZ, exactly.
They haven't shown any compelling games or features that warrant the extra $100. Kinect looks to really cool as far as user interface but that's about it. There are zero, launch titles taking advantage of it. Skype and Twitch are behind a paywall. Those are the other two app that really uses it. Unless you love the NFL as much as you do your Xbox One w Skype, it's not worth it.
Math is universal for a reason. It helps us explain/understand things that otherwise wouldn't be explainable. This is done through physics, matter, and formulas.
We're not saying theoretical performance from Xbox One isn't possible, just it has yet to be proven. PS4 numbers (RAM) are proven aka constant as oppose to ESRAM (190gb/s min - 204gb/s peak *theoretical).
This was company playing the "number don't matter" game earlier this year. Now you'...
Sorry it's because of the company that it was supported by. Microsoft doesn't carry anywhere near that much clout in gaming. They've don't have a vast first party portfolio. It was Sony's first and 2nd party games that showed the power of ps3. Having numerous Game of The Year games exclusively your console speaks volumes. You're basing your assumption that Microsoft and Sony are equal. Microsoft doesn't really work themselves out of jams, they just pull out a check...
Because Xbox360 fanboys were so poised last generation until PS3 ousold their system, right?
I'm seriously not being a fanboy when I say esRAM yields are whats causing the shortage. Nearly the same architecture but the only difference is esRAM. Proof that this is the case is shorting your launch markets. If production wasn't a problem then why decrease launch markets? Sony is able to launch in 34 markets, and Microsoft only 13. That's a reduction of 62% compared to Sony.
@get2sammyb
If you're talking about only America and UK then yes...
Lol@ all you people who think Xbox One's upclock was planned from day one. Those original clocks were set by AMD to ensure the console's longevity. The 10% CPU upclock and 6% GPU does nothing but heat up your console faster. Didn't Microsoft say specs don't matter? They why bother upclocking 10-6 percent?
Like I said, what did you expect Microsoft to say? This was a rushed system from it's policies all the way to it's "VCR" design. Xbox One a...
to arise with the new talk of the CPU upclock. Or don't expect the life expectancy to be as long as ps4's
Yeah sorry you're wrong on that. Xbox 360 launched November 25th 2005. I know because I had my launch system ready to go.
I called this one. I told people they weren't launching with COD because that would make the "Buy up" deal with Gamestop redundant.
Only in my opinion. Even then you hardly find everyone getting together to play a game of Madden. LAN parties, while fun, are no longer really necessary when you have online. Sony has the most experience in this industry and they surveyed the hell out of developers. 8 player controller support wasn't exactly at the top of their list.
this a tactical stroke. Their just continuing a trend they've been doing since the original Playstation. People know that's even if they don't jump to the next generation immediately, that Sony still has them covered. I don't know how much can be said for Nintendo and don't get me started on Microsoft.
@Lukas,
I know Sony has ceased production on ps2's since Januarty and that the only way they can track their number is by outgoing shi...
Microsoft will definitely let you know their having production issues while Sony is churning out ps4 like candy. What response did you expect him to give you? The architecture as a whole was fine. The only problems were coming from the ESRAM that were indeed, causing yield issues with the chipset. If this weren't the case, they would not have cut their launching markets by over 33% (21 to 13).
after the ps2. But I thought Xbox was seen at the "All-In-One" Entertainment system. But it's not even a media center extender like.....I don't know.....the Xbox360!?
Dude no, sorry just no. Ps4's 176gb/s isn't theoretical like esRAM.
http://www.extremetech.com/...
"First, there’s the fact that while we’ve been calling this a 32MB ESRAM cache, Microsoft is representing it as a series of four 8MB caches. Bandwidth to this cache is apparently 109GB/s “minimum” ...
Microsoft made it seems like the entirety of Europe would receive. we know you're talking about DriveClub and yes you're missing 2-3 cars or tracks. But at least it will still be available after launch day.
Should have just given Xbox LIVE gold (1year) away to undercut Sony. That way people could actually use majority of the features they advertised, but failed to mentioned Live Gold was required.
more like November 22nd launch date for Xbox One. EA still hasn't received finalized devkits from Micosoft.

Their still using PC/windows8/E3 build.
A week after ps4 launch won't really matter.
though. That's primarily direct at gamers?
