There is part of the world that is ready and they will roll out the service and the have nots and the opposition to this change will continue to be on the forums denouncing it.

It's pretty clear this is the direction the industry is going towards. They've done it to music, TV/Movies, and now the other form of entertainment games will be next. Convenience will go a long ways.

It means they are open, unlike their main competitor who wants to slam the door shut on things like console crossplay. It also means supporting games like Minecraft but again their main competitor doesn't want Xbox Live servers to be handling the game. Nintendo doesn't seem to have a problem with any of this.

They are also branching out on mobile.

Microsoft is also going to release its own streaming service, which can be played on any device.

It's clear some don't like change, that's all it is. The PC gets the same new games (other than console exclusives of course) and it clearly works well on that platform. One company is just taking backwards compatibility more seriously and when you see things like Red Dead Redemption allowing the hardware do the magic, like you said, what's the downside?

Your console is still a game console, you're not going to be pulling out the CPU and GPU and you are ...

I don't mind the always online if the world is constantly changing but I don't want PvP in my single player games. Too many idiots online. They do say your save progression goes with you (and your account) but to me it sounds like GT Sport where you can only save to the servers.

Many wanted more studios, they have added 5 new ones and Ninja Theory was the big surprise.

To think back in 2013 when so many called the Xbox One a big advertisement for TV and the past few years have been nothing but games and more games.

They also now have the most powerful console to showcase all these multiplat games.

Japanese support is growing.

Game Pass is showing great value.

I say it was a...

Lots don't want to be always on. Sure some games make sense but not all games.

"This is why real exclusives matter."

So now the game isn't very good? Good games matter whether they are exclusive or not, end of story.

"if you haven't bought the other DLC expansions you probably dont care for the game and had no intention on buying Forsaken in the first place, but by all means lets keep the manufactured outrage going."

You make as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. I already bought the game so why wouldn't I be interested in the new DLC? Go look at reviews over the last DLC and wake up. Forsaken looks a lot better. You really need to sharpen your responses.

"And if you want to play expansions for many other games you have to pay for those as well"

Normally you buy the game, then you choose to buy the DLC. What isn't normal is buying the game, then having to buy the old DLC (which wasn't very good) to play the new DLC. It's a crappy practice, not sure why you feel so enlightened to defend it.

"Niche Japanese games and Indie games are still third party games whether it suits your agenda or not."

My agenda by showing you facts? EA is a large publisher, maybe the biggest out there. Nintendo does not make hardware for third party publishers, they make hardware to promote their own games. So until I see third party titles in software sales in the top 10 each month I doubt things are going to change. Exclusives make up a large portion of software sales on every ...

"Another is that I could Sony outright refusing for the same reason they don't do EA pass: they have their own version of a game streaming service."

GamePass and Origin are not streaming services though and each will now have new titles, Origin Premiere will even have access to new titles before they launch. So why refuse them unless they are not confident in their own service? To me that just shows they really don't care about the consumers by not allowin...

You should read the article because it clearly explains that yes, you do indeed need to pay extra for this new expansion, that's the problem. Bungie has been tainted by Activision and it's endless desire to get as much money as possible, no doubt about it.

wonderfulmonkeyman, ever since Sony entered the scene Nintendo has fallen with third party support. This is largely due to how Nintendo treated third party publishers and also because they never consult with them while making hardware.

Gamecube, third party support poor, third party sales poor
Wii, third party sales hit and miss but most major publishers didn't do well because the hardware was inferior
Wii U, third party support poor, third party suppo...

When we see every month hardly any third party selling well can you blame them? People buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games. So unless they can create a great portable game I don't see why anyone really bothers. I agree, I don't see why Switch couldn't handle it.

Exactly. If he clarified even 7 Windows/Xbox games that would be great but to simply say 15 games means nothing.

"Then they would have to charge hundreds of dollar per year instead of $99 a year. Most of the models don't make sense because they are going to have to charge much more for regular new releases"

Now you're changing your initial argument which was there isn't a demand for PS Now. I said there would be if they had new games. Of course pricing would have to be competitive. Origin Premiere is also higher than the $30 a year for just Origin, so we can alre...

Of course there's no demand for PSN Now, it's lower quality than the original because it's streamed and Sony refuses to put new games on it. If they put God of War and Detroit and Horizon then maybe it would do much better.

For less than the price of two games you can play for a year. You also don't have to pay $50 or $60 for online access like you do on the Xbox One and PS4. So it all depends if you like their games. Madden, FIFA, Anthem, Unravel Two, Battlefield and more seems like a pretty good deal to me.
