Releasing one game, that many agree is highly overrated somehow brings the Xbox 360 back from the "precived" path of doom it was heading towards? Let's not get carried away here folks, Gears of War isn't he second coming, and Xbox 360 isn't doomed, yet.
It has already been stated, that some accomplishments well unlock goods on HOME like Clothing etc.. a LONG LONG time ago.
If I am not mistaken a portion of Universal is owned by Microsoft, though Vivindi is the major share holder.
Tell that to the people who can't play their content purchased from XBL.
XBL allows you to download movies, for a one time play. I can do this today, with my Cable / Settelite / Netflix service, without having to wait 3 hours or more for the movie to download. People have to understand, that unlike music downloads, movie downloads have so far been "rentals".
This is simple damage control, with rental services like Netflix etc.. hard copies will be popular for a LONG LONG time. People prefer to OWN things, not always rent. Can you own a pi...
I am going to play this on my SONY VIOH PC, darn it seems it's also a Sony exclusive after all. What is a "Microsoft exclusive", games should be exclusive to the "hardware" it is running on. If I don't have to own a Xbox 360 to play the game, it's not an exclusive to the system.. PERIOD.
As for playing the game on Windows, Linux can now play any games released for the Windows platform.
They are only known for two games, the Unreal series and Gears of War. They expect Microsoft to cough up a billion dollars for that? Oh wait, they already did something similar with Rare.. LOL
It toke them long enough to make this game, who knows if it's even going to come out this year.
The problem is, well they pull a EA and drop the dedicated servers after a year etc..? For the PSN, Sony provides support for dedicated servers since they publish the game. What incentives does they have of keeping the servers running after a year?
Let's be honest the only reason this was announced, was because of Resistance.
If this does come out, it would be sweet. The design makes a lot of sense. But exactly how are you going to implement UMD disks on it is a question mark. Is there a picture of the back of the system?
With Blu-Rays victory, what happens to the HD-DVD addon for the Xbox 360? It's going to be interesting to see, what consumers will do. And if a Blu-Ray addon comes out, doesn't Microsoft shoot it self on the foot? I doubt the consumer who bought a HD-DVD addon from them, would want to make a second purchase with them.
The future seems pretty interesting, keep in mind Microsoft was a HD-DVD partner.
I think a lot of the Asian countries used BetaMax and still use it today.
Microsoft to stop making faulty hardware, and exit the console war.
Why they don't release great games like FF7 etc.. yet is astounding.
Anyone else wondering, what the heck they are referring to? Last I checked every single game store in my city has a system or two that are NEW, and a 2-4 used Xbox 360s. I guess this is MS attempt at trying to downplay the sales numbers.
They send you a different refurbished box, it could be older or newer.. just have to be lucky I guess.
I am sorry if we aren't conformist, we like s&it to work.
Isn't it obvious?
They didn't make a "real" profit, if you remember the $1 billion repair fee.
Something you guys haven't done since Halo the original.
