I don't get it, are you saying the Dreamcast couldn't have sold 19k in a single week around 8 months after launch in Japan? It was pretty popular before the PS2 launch and had some spurts after it, though of course the sales did take a nose dive shortly after the PS2 released.
Oh, no! Sorry to make it sound that way, I loved Excite Truck a lot! Could've used online but it was amazing.
But I just don't think as a whole the 4 or 5 decent-to-good games during Wii launch compare at all to the 10 or so good-to-very good looking games slated for the Wii U, even if some are multiplats
While the Vita's market appears to be small at the moment, I'm sure it will be much bigger in the future. I mean you'd have to think it could carve some slice out of the 70 million PSP owners?
I don't think this will last long, surely the Vita will get a bigger bump from a full holiday season than the DC did, at least I hope.
It's crazy different. Are you telling me Elebits, Excite Truck, Red Steel and Far Cry: Vengeance are similar to Assassin's Creed III, Black Ops 2 (COD now is WAY different than COD3 was), Darksiders 2, Mass Effect 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo, etc?
I hope Sony stops the stupid practice of selling hardware at a loss, releases a $300 console for a profit and turns all that profit per console into funding for game development or more money stockpiled in order to not lay off another 10,000 employees.
You what just hit me? Why don't console makers allow flash memory via SD/USB drives to expand system memory in the future? Kinda like Windows does, even though that was mostly aimed at Netbooks.
Would this ever work, like say if X amount of a console's internal flash memory was always saved for this?
Just wondering as I type really.
Cool.
I really hope people say the same thing for the 720/PS4
Since Miiverse looks like it has some form of message boards you may have a point! You may get an experience like forums on the web from the console itself now that I think of it.
But we can't act like that extra 1GB for the OS doesn't exist. It goes into the costs of the console just the same and Nintendo is trying to make multi-tasking and miiverse a big feature. So it is just as important as that the 1GB of RAM used for games.
And either way, 1GB is still a lot more than 512MB, considering the 360/PS3 split that 512MB for video and we still don't know if the Wii U will share that 1GB between with the video memory yet.
I don't get it, are you saying Nintendo is 6 years late to the 2GB of RAM in home consoles party?
You'd think the fact that the 3DS is outselling the DS in the same time frame would be enough for investors to see positivity in the near future for Nintendo.
Man, was the SEGA Channel ahead of it's time or what? I loved that thing!
I don't think Cable will be a threat to gaming anytime soon because of the huge fight companies like Time Warner, AT&T are having with customers over internet caps, speeds, etc.
In 20 years? Maybe but I'd think Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo would find a way to capitalize on it by making Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Channels anyway
A lot of people in the gaming industry are being exposed as jealous losers who simply can't share something with others.
They actually think Nintendo consoles can't have nice things. Get over your brand preferences and give something new a try or else ignore it and let it be.
It's also pretty dumb because the Wii U is more powerful than 360/PS3 so they can't blame Treyarch. They're working with better tech, so of course they'd make it ...
I guess but they are from two different publishers so they really have no relation to one another other than having a color in the title.
I've enjoyed a lot of their games.
I didn't know about MW2 having those issues, but I assure you at least a small group of people had similar issues with Black Ops on PS3.
I really hope they release these HD collections on the Wii U. It could end up as popular in Japan as PS3 since it has Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, etc. And it would all fit on that iDensity disc drive.
But if not it will still be a great addition to the PS3 library though I wish this was just 1 + 2. Also, what took them so long?
There was a lot of issues with BluRay lenses coincidentally going out on old PS3 fat models when Black Ops 1 released in 2010. I'm sure this has something to do with that. My PS3 wouldn't read ANY copy of Black Ops. New, used, rented, etc. Tried like 4 copies to no avail. Then I saw the 50 page help thread about the same issue on the Playstation Support forums and sold my PS3 copy for the 360 version only because I couldn't get the game to work.
Hopefully Treyarch...
Says it's a "retarded ipad"?
Really? "retarded" is the best word they came up with? I stopped reading there.
