Alan Wake 2 does it how most games does it. More of a narrative device than actual gameplay. You aren't really doing anything meaningful and you can practically do it in your sleep, but it tells a story.
Real investigative gameplay would be stuff like Obra Dinn and The Case of the Golden Idol.
If you read about Ps5 on Twitter you would come to the conclussion that they are doomed, despite hitting record sales numbers.
Also those converters that allow you to use ps5 controllers and such. Luckily I never went out and got one of those.
Tbf, Ms will without a doubt continue to purchase either studios or publishers. In 6 months we'll probably be see what they get. Wouldn't be too surprised if they bought a couple of big Japanese publishers, to get gamepass to Japan.
Their best way to be the number one console company is by forcing customers over to their platform, by removing popular franchises and genres from competitng platforms.
Sony is in a position where they could do a lot, with their premium games. They have all the systems in place to do something cool on the psp, ps2 and psx front, but they don't really want to, it seems.
It should be obvious that personal opinions plays a part. I find it silly that you can't write a negative review of a game without being accused of contrarianism If you think it sucks you should write that it sucks, you shouldn't lie and make up a fake positive review just to align with others.
I'm a big fan of psx aesthethics and I'm not alone. there's a whole indie movement dedicated to making exactly this.
But the goal of the collection is obviously to preserve the games as they were and not to change them for a modern audience. It's kinda like a MGS museum of sorts.
@1nsomniac
Well I knew what I was buying. I want to play all the games and the graphic novel intrigued me most of all, so felt it was worth the price of admission. If I felt it was too expensive I could have waited, it's not like prices don't fall over time.
Btw, where is this bargain bin where you can find a playable version of mgs1-3 for 2 pounds? Last I checked MGS1 cost around the same as this collection, and then youd also have to buy either a ps1 or a...
@1nsomniac
Well, they could have just done basic MGS1 and basic mgs 2/3 and called it a day. Instead they took all of it and bundled it together with a couple of nice menues and some neat extras. They did a lot more than I had expected and I'm personally quite happy with this package. There's a lot to explore that I would have never explored of they hadn't made this collection.
I didn't even know Mgs Integral was a thing before now.
If you are okay with the games being what they were, it's fantastic.
I'm not sure what people expected. They said they'd rerelease the games as they were and then suddenly people are shocked that mgs 1 looks like a psx game. Personally this is exactly what I wanted, then they'll probably remake 1-2 after 3.
There's too much content and attention to detail for it to be a cash grab. A cash grab wouldn't feature MGs1 Integral and all three regional versions of MGS3. Also wouldn't come with a save game editor that let's you customize your memory card with konami saves for the psycho mantis battle.
Or master books, manuscripts and narrated graphic novels. I'm very satisfied, have never played Integral or vr missions for that matter.
Sequels that won't arrive before Fallout 5, Starfield 2 is atleast 10 year away, if not longer.
So they made sure that you would rather fasttravel than fly around, because they wanted you to build spaceships? Cool feature, but I would rather have had proper exploration.
I do think there's interest. But 100 million subscribers is a very optimistic target.
It must get a boost now that they acquired atleast 3 infinite money machines in Candy Crush, Calld of Duty Mobile and Heartstone.
Not impossible, Spencer is a big fan and the whole reason the bc program included Blue Dragon and Lost Odyseey.
Someone needs to give Mistwalker some cash.
I think it's the seemles persistent space travelling with fully modelled space interiors. They basically did what Bethesda failed to do in a AAA setting. Surprisingly enough, a lot of this seems to have made ot into Squadron 42.
Not gonna lie, I think this looks amazing. Imagine if this had been an unannounced game, people would lose their shit.
Always thought it would be a Wing Commander type game, so is a little dissapointing with all the fps stuff.
But do love the concept. It's cool that you can walk around in a huge ass spaceship in the middle of a space battle.
Given that it's feature complete, I'd assume the game would be done next year or in 2025.
Star Citizen is another deal, not expecting that one anytime soon.
I think they had a long term plan, but the plan has changed, leaving holes in the release schedule.
