I'm buying gamepass for two months, playing it as much as possible and will try out some Lies of P and Forza at the side in these two months. Then probably burn out on Starfielf for now and will then be buying it when it gets cheap later on.
They were looking at the game and saw that it was heading for all platforms and they were like "hold my beer, let's make it available for more gamers" then they made sure it released on as few platforms as possible.
Most developers would probably rejoice if they were told to release on less platforms. Having a huge audience is nice, but the more platforms the bigger the headache is.
I think I'm between a 7 and a 8. Lack of spacetravel is a big minus for me. But also trying to change how I view the game, might fare better if approached as a mass effect than if approached like a Fallout + Elite.
Though my opinion also changes by what I do in the game. Some sessions have been more enjoyable than others.
Hope series x gets some mods. Want to increase font size all over and want time dillation so you can fly from planet to planet without menues. Though that would only fix part of the issues. Would also need some events during flights to make it interesting. So a bigger mod.
@Rocket
You can fly from planet to planet in NMS, you don't have to warp. Obviously you need to warp from system to system, which is fine, but the important is that you actually get to fly your ship. In Starfield it's just an extra layer of loadtimes. You need to get to the ship, to open the starmap and instantly land/dock on your next destination.
If they made some time dillation stuff you might be able to actually fly around the starsystem. Which might be...
I think people expected you to be able to fly from planet to planet without fasttravel, but you can't. It's a space game where you never need to actually fly your space ship.
It's the same in space, you move from planet to planet by choosing your destination in a menu. You find points of interests by looking for marked planets on the map. If there's a radiowave icon, you'd probably want to go. So you highlight it and fasttravel. Then you click on it again and select "land". This is Bethesdas idea of space exploration.
This is the most dissapointing part of the game. Could have been so cool with a couple of minor tweaks. But...
Outer worlds with a budget. There's not much to the actual space flight, it's mostly just menues and fasttravelling most of the time. Not sure it's even possible to fly from planet to planet.
Had an enemy who launched up in the air upon death and got his head stuck in the ceiling.
Haven't seen anything serious. But I have seen setdressing explode, enemy corpses that stand up, textures that fail to load and volume balance issues in conversations and so on. Bug free is a stretch.
@anast would also add that space combat feels good, though I haven't figured out how to move around efficiently in a fight, but I think that's a "me" thing. So the space part isn't bad, it's just a lot less cool than it should be.
All the fasttravelling and loading screens is my biggest gripe with the game so far. Feels disjointed and most transition shots aren't doing much to glue things together. Really wish it would stick to cockpit view when in hyperspace.
Might get better later, but in the beginning all the space stuff feels very shallow. You only really go to your ship to fast travel to another planet or system, to fasttravel to a point of interest. Meanwhile there's no decent way to tr...
I highly doubt we'll see a showcase from Sony. Maybe a blogpost one day.
Being on the list doesn't mean they are doing it, it means they would want to do it eventually if they get the chance. Also, the list is long so who knows how long it will take.
Froms games have all kinds of extra features to help new players, coop and summons are basically your easy mode. Can't defeat a boss? Get help from other players.
I demand they make a mode where you don't have to customize your mech, anything else is anti-consumer. Every game should be made for meeeee.
Hmm, maybe they would be more relaxed about switch emulation if people actually bought the games before emulating. Instead of just seeing it as a big free for all.
Meaning locked to match Series S, just said in nicer words.
It will probably do fine but numbers like Skyrim will be hard to achieve without Switch and Playstation.
