This is one that I will be keeping an eye on. The previous Halo installments didn't impress me but this just might surprise me.
Is it nice? Yes.
Does it matter? No.
Having seen all the insincere/skewed reviews come out of the woodwork, it has really turned me off to the alpha/numeric ratings system most media outlets utilize.
There was really nothing that anyone could have said to keep me from buying GOW 3 day one.
As an owner of both a 360 & a PS3, I can very easily see the difference in quality of games between the two consoles and the disparity of how said games are received by the general media outlets. They are so inconsistent and arbitrary. There seem to be glaring problems with how these "reviewers" dole out these points.
I like Joystiq.com's reviews because they give you critique of the content and have foregone handing out numerical scores.
From the trickle of reviews coming in at the moment, I already see that a lot of them are scoring GOW III just high enough to be up there , but not high enough to surpass other games that might be held up as a comparison. Politics and agendas will be out in full force for GOW 3 like no other game before it. Mark my words.

Bioware did a lot of refining of the gameplay, but I honestly was expecting more storyline and missions attached to the main quest. The bulk of the game was doing loyalty missions, side missions and mining like a madman. I was expecting many missions dealing with the reapers to send me on a escapade around the galaxy, but as is, it feels like I only played a handful of missions for the main storyline and then it I get sent on t...

1. Socom is one of the best tactical shooter franchises ever. Period.
2. The original Zipper team is making it.
3. Finally it gets the PS3 treatment.
4. Sony studios share tech. Imagine the results of the collaboration for Socom 4. We already have Naughty Dog on board. Nuff said.
MAG is a blast! I just made it to level 10. Figured out that the easy way to level up was to be a medic to start. Its great to work as a team on the objectives...

AND I'm loving this news. I loved the single player campaigns of SOCOM. This is effectively the first real next gen Socom , made by the people that know it best.
Maybe you feel a little threatened by all the great shooters coming out for a certain console.
