You are doing an awful lot of speculating. For starters Microsoft would be foolish to release the next box so soon. Did they not learn their lesson after rushing the 360 to market and eating a 1billion dollar repair bill? They have an established fan base, however there would be far less tolerance of a console that fails at such a high rate.
Sony on the other hand thinks way in the future. A larger chunk of the R&D that was spent during the ps3 development was also inten...
I made the mistake of trying to clean my launch 60 myself.. I carefully took the system apart and memorized where every component, screw, wire and cleaned it carefully. While puttig it back together a wire that goes from the touch panel on the front to the blu ray drive was pinched by a screw and grounded it.. When I turned the system on it turned on fine then made a strange noise and red lighted... that was 3 years ago, but I have a slim now that runs phenomenally..
Really? You've "stood" by Sony for all of these years and you turn coat because of Parental Controls? Give me a break...
@bladefist No you are oversimplifying it.. I have a 1 year old pc that had some pretty good specs when I bought it and it hiccups more then a drunk hobo. Its a great computer but these games are being pumped out at a rate that its hard to keep my pc up to par.. My Ps3 all I have to do is DL a patch or a new firmware and I'm good to go.. Thats the beauty of uniformity you dont have to worry about coding for the lowest common denominator.. You know exactly what you are getting... Its just ...
I believe they learned a lesson in regards to ram from both SOny and Microsoft.. In order to run these ever sophisticated OS' and these complex games ram has to be a priority.. SO in a way you could say Nintendo gained inspiration from both of them..
Thats what I love about consoles, especially now with the advent of online patches and firmware updates its basically plug and play and you know the product that you are going to get.. Not like computers where you have to buy the best of the best parts and components which gets expensive to run these games at full spec... I'd rather have my console for a few hundred with a dedicated online infrastructure and a constant supply of guranteed to work AAA titles.. NO MUSS, NO FUSS...
@lionelglitchy You are wrong about Sony and the PS4 in ever way possible.. For starters since blu-ray is the defacto standard of High definition formats it's a safe bet to assume it will be used for the ps4 and since ps3 games haven't come remotely close to filling a triple layer blu-ray we're good to go.. Next Sony has already let the wraps off of their 4K resolution technology that will surpass any resolution currently available, by ALOT. Sony is in a really good position to o...
I'm sorry but I cant agree with you herbs.. I have used every form of control schemes to interact with my games and I always go back to the tried and true controller.. I've played the Wii, Move, Kinect, Vita, and every other new and supposedly revolutionary control input and yet again I return to my classic controllers.. Why? Because they allow me the most control with no extra thought or effort on my part.. ITs automatic, I don't have to think about what buttons I need to press o...
@Eyeco SOny has released a program called playstation mobile and its a collection of cheap pick up an play games.. Like playstation minis but much better.. If they can educate the public on this program I think it will do wonders for the Vita
Well when they released the slim and lowered the price in 08 the ps3 sold like gangbusters... I dont see why it wouldnt happen again.. Especially considering the strides that sony has made since...
I'm pretty sure there will be Black Friday deals seeing as I bought a bundle with two games last year for $199....
All I know is that I bought a PS3 slim black friday bundle last year for $199 and it came with two games... I'll probably be buying another one this year.. Wonder what kind of deal they will have on the super slim...
TLG is a "spiritual" sequel and not a true sequel..
@mcstorm I know I was just refuting what you said no hard feelings.. As far as plus goes I was just stating that for me I get much more value out of Plus then I do Live which is why I have no problem paying for it.. I just don't understand why people are willing to pay for Live.. Not from an affordability standpoint but rather the principal of it..
@mcstorm I'm sorry but the basic elements of online play are in place and just as good on the psn as they are on live.. You rip ps+ about "renting" games but isn't that exactly what you are doing with the multiplayer portion of all of your 360 games? you stop playing for live you don't play them online.. I"m sorry but Sony gives me far more value for my money with ps+ then I would ever get out of Live...
But just like 6 years ago the "halo" audience is saturated.. Reach didn't sell massively more then 3 meaning everybody that plays it has a 360 vis a vi means that there likely won't be many console sales due to halo 4
Umm the RROD fiasco? Forcing you to buy a bunch of pricey accessories that should have been built into the console from the start like an HDMI port or how about a WIFI adapter. Built in rechargeable batteries in the controllers. A disk drive that doesn't eat discs. Buying up developers and wasting their talents on features and casual games. Universal hard drives. Free to play online. Etc.. Microsoft is one of the greediest companies to ever grace the face of our planet and people buy thei...
@majors Actually I can pre buy need for speed on the PS store for 12 bucks cheaper then a brick and mortar store.. No waiting, no sales tax just instant gratification.. Its an excellent program...
I will probably be getting need for speed and assassins creed... Intrigued by all stars battle royale but I suck at fighters...
Yet both the ps1 and ps2 broke 100 million consoles sold...
