REmake 2 looks phenomenal and it is exactly what long time fans of the series have begged to get for a long time now. Monster Hunter World was also a huge success. Resi 7 may have a few heads here upset but overall it was a great game well recieved and showcase for VR. Capcom have been scarce with their games the last few years but they're definitely on the rise currently despite MvC:Infinite and Dead Rising 4 being dissapointing
Anthem is certainly not going to be their redemption.
I think current user averages should be available at all times. It'd be nice to know if a community is still alive and not buy into a dead game
I bought it despite the feedback because I had to try for myself. I did get it after launch for cheaper but I couldn't enjoy it. I pursued through for about 10 hours and I had to stop. Wasn't able for it
Bioware. I remember a time when the mention of a Bioware game got me giddy about spending 100s of hours exploring great locations with diverse characters but it has been so many moons since they've had that effect. They're a shell of their former selves both creatively and literally. They merely exist as a brand name for EA games now.
Surprised to make it this far and no mention of Micheal Ironside
Dinklage is probably the best example of a great actor doing a terrible job in the last decade. There was a reason his lines got re-recorded
A lot of obvious answers here so I'll try stick to something not yet said and give Keith David his dues. The man is instantly recognisable and great to listen to
That's actually a tough one. Resident Evil the original had some diabolical voice acting. Weaker and Barry Burton both had some choice moments. While that game may be the first that comes to mind it also kind of works in a campy way so I won't be top harsh on it.
I will give the Crew 2 an honourable mention though. That's probably one of the worst I've experienced in recent years by far
Man PoG was a serious personality around here back in the day! Make what you will of that 😂
Then there was TheMart too! Good times... kinda... but not really I guess
I was supposed to mention the fact that Insomniac won a number of accolades including "Best place to work" under Ted Price' s direction. I feel that's important in today's economy as so many studios (even the good ones) are taking advantage of their staff
I was devastated by Pandemic's closure. Their games gave me countless hours of enjoyment during the PS2 era
Alan Wake was incredible and I held Remedey in such high regard. Until Quantum Break happened, I was hugely dissapointed in that. I'd have chalked it up to a misfire and given them the benefit of the doubt but Control looks to be the same.
I'm going to say Ted Price. He's known but not well enough. Maybe I just see it That way because I met him a few years ago and he is such a nice person but whenever I tell people that, they look confused as if they've no idea who I speak of.
That's atrocious!
Even if it's "optional" now, I feel we have all been down paths similar to this with the game industry and it's only a matter of a short time before it becomes the norm and gets pushed to the limits. No thanks
Goichi Suda (Suda 51). I just don't like most of his games. The man seems to have some great ideas but he's just not able to bring them to a game that's enjoyable to play. They're always clunky and hard to get invested in. I find a lot of the time his trademark visuals are a little over simplified too.
If he hadn't gone off the deep end in recent(ish) years it would have totally been worth mentioning Peter Molyneux. The Bullfrog days were incredible.
I've already signed up for the production updates. I'm all over this. 2 of my favourite things rolled in to one.
Also just being a little too picky! It's no big deal but pitting "Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced today that they have" is incorrect. The source doesn't state that and the announcement is a week old now.
It's going to be an unoriginal answer but Hideo Kojima gets me excited about a game like no other. Metal Gear Solid floored me when it came to little touches like characters reading your memory card and moving your controller, using cigarettes to smoke out lasers, tapping walls to create distractions.. seriously I could be making this list all day and that's only the first Metal Gear Solid.
His creative direction is genuinely unique and I have always been into narrative hea...
I think Capcom have come forward so much this year. The fan base has screamed for a revisit of Resident Evil 2 but nobody expected the effort they've gone to. Monster Hunter finally hit home consoles and did brilliantly. Before 2018 Resi 7 has been the definition of horror on VR. They've had a couple of misfires sure (I've read reports of Marvel having a big hand in the outcome of MvC: Infinite) but I've still been impressed with them lately
I should point ...
