Looks great. Whoever's playing makes me want to grab the controller.
It would be nice if we didn't have to buy new cables, but hopefully sites like Monoprice will keep it low-cost.
I wonder if they could build an Ethernet-like interface and updated protocol stack for ease of networking/splitting.
I've done my own distro-hopping... so far I've tried Ubuntu, Kubuntu, gOS, Linux Mint, DreamLinux, OpenSuse, and Xubuntu. I've settled with Kubuntu 64-bit (KDE 4.2) on my desktop because of Synaptic, and Debian is a greatly-supported learning environment. I still dual-boot though because I haven't found Wine to play everything I'd like, and UPnP servers didn't work as well as WMP11 for me. I highly recommend giving it a go though, especially with the availability of LiveCDs.

I kinda like the blur filter. Maybe it will prevent another dull comparison article.
Don't be shy, spell it out for the crowd guy.
Well, I disagree with the Killzone 2 CG reference. As amazing as I think this game looks, HHG, watch a full CGI movie and compare. There is massive computation and post-processing going on there. Second, I don't believe you're a fan of RPGs. Nothing wrong with that, just pointing out your news relating to 'White Knight Story'. Also, this whole Kevin Pereira (proper spelling) thing - can you explain how this turned into Kanye's mother? The only thing I saw was a video making fun of Kanye...
I agree. I'd rather finish maxing my characters in 99 Nights.
Did you try deleting the game data! Under the game data utility! A lot of folks have had an issue! And fixed it like this!
I think the point he's trying to make is wondering why Nintendo wouldn't have enabled this functionality out of the box. I am curious also, if perhaps they consider it a security flaw for homebrew and/or piracy. I don't see it so much as the Wii being directly more comparable feature-wise to the more hardware-intensive consoles, but with so much being hooked up to our TVs nowadays, why not? The PS2 was my DVD player back in the day.
You know, it's funny that you chastise any who criticize your beloved hero, yet when he does the same to someone else (who is out of his element) it's passable. Does the government monitor speech where you're from? 'Cause it's free for everyone over here - on both sides.
I really don't care about console food fights, I just like it when I (the gamer) win.
I am eager for this game as well, but for me it's more about Guerilla's stunning contribution to a maturing PS3. I really hope it delivers on every note - it doesn't need to be revolutionary, just a fresh improved rehash on what we expect from the genre.
It's that time again, ramping up for another MS OS release. Kinda exciting to see the progress. Anyway, it struck me as peculiar that the new window manager and taskbar look more similar to linux - ie more pronounced corners and flat-colored taskbar. Anyone else think so? Perhaps for the best it will borrow some secure architecture.
@Venomish
That's true, I feel the same. I want to know my 'new' copy hasn't been previewed by an employee beforehand. I'm sure that's a nice perk, but I would rather have it factory sealed. Still, some folks don't ind though. To each his own.
These are sickening by now. I see this as an innovation that should be shared amongst feature sets within software. Linux has been using this for years, as has Unix. I know the economy's gone down, but come on. I wonder who has the patent for displaying electronic images on a screen - guess we'll be using braille displays after that lawsuit.
ukilnme, so true. I read your story in the other thread, and I agree. As hard as it would be to not suggest the 360 for the games, I would feel compelled to do the same. Luckily, I've only lost one box (so far?), and it was a bummer, but it made me get more acquainted and appreciative for the neglected black box. Both can be great experiences, but I even use my PS3 for media playing duties on the home network.
These awards are all subjective, and can be much fun to debate. As for me, even though I play my 360 more, MGS4 blew me away, especially as the first MG I've played since the original 8-bit. I played through it twice, and that's rare for a game to do that to me.
For someone with hate in their handle, I have a hard time stomaching your judgment
Fully agreed.
I still don't understand why they dropped the software emulator - if it's already developed it shouldn't have any recurring cost overhead. Considering firmware updates apply universally to all models, is it possible they used a particular design that the emulator utilized, then when the board was revised it no longer worked and they dropped it? I don't believe it was intended to force people to buy another PS2. I mean, they could've dropped PS1 compatibility too and made us buy a PSP to pl...
