Either way, it's clear that PS4 last on its list of priorities.
I hate console exclusivity of 3rd party games. Gamers on both sides only lose.
The difficulty for MS is that people tend to buy the console their friends have and their friends' friends do the same so they can all play the same games together. That's why taking the lead early is so important.
Anecdotally, me and one of my friends got a launch PS4, then a few months later a few more friends got PS4 to play with us, and the friends that haven't gotten it yet plan on getting PS4 after the first price drop simply to play with us. Now I don...
This whole Destiny review Catch 22 is just weird.
Here's my Day 1 opinion so far:
If you can forgive the very uninspired art style and level design, graphics and gameplay are good, particularly the shooting mechanics, but everything else is completely lacking. FFXIV is a better MMO, Borderlines a better Co-Op game, and they're countless better SP and competitive MP FPS games out there. It feels as if Bungie was completely insecure in everything except the graphics and Halo-esq gameplay.
Being Bungie ...
Too bad it couldn't utilize some more inspired art design. Graphics are technically nice, much nicer than the beta but still so sterile.
Each environment is so bland and forgettable. Can't believe I'm saying this but it could use some elaborate set pieces. The sky is gorgeous but that's it. Some games can make a wasteland beautiful and strangely inviting. The world of Destiny on the other hand is bleak and depressingly bare.
Can't put ...
True, but no where near the level of android. Its so easy on droid.
Rampant piracy I wold imagine.
VR - it's the only thing that can markedly change how we play and experience games for the better.
But it's probably years off. Prices need to go down for the sets and current consoles don't have the power to do it properly. And the rigs that could would be pretty expensive.
So they have silver and gold, obviously corresponding to trophy levels. Do they have platinum?
I'm not either. Shame too, it's my favourite sports game but Club is the main reason I buy it.
I can't understand how they had two years and still release a half finished game.
I have yet to hear a virtual surround sound headphone sound better than my actual surround sound Klipsch setup.
I'm sure they must exist but it's not happening with these $100-$250 headphones.
There is something seriously wrong with your internet then.
I'm fine with anything under a gig.
A lot of RPGs require 40 hrs to pass, I think another 20 hrs for a game of this scope is more than reasonable.
They essentialy reviewing three games, SP, Co-op, and Competitive - 20 hrs each seems fair imo.
Xbox destroyed the goodwill it had among gamers.
First, it lost people to faulty hardware and the worst nickel and diming ever seen for a console. Harddrives, Wifi, everything was exploitatively priced.
The ones that stayed for the games then lost Bungie, Mass Effect exclusivity, and Fable turned to crap.
Then to put the final nail in the coffin for the people that endured so much, MS turned its entire focus away from games and put it and th...
I hate sites that put each item on a different page.
Story Quality WTF
Like this website? No
At least put 2-3 on a page, not just one. I hope this site and all sites like it get banned from N4G.
Yeah first light is a lot smoother.
Reviewers would probably need to put in at least 60 hours to properly review the game.
But if the SP is bad then Bungie would have messed up. I hope it's not some cliff hanger ending that tries to sells the DLC.
Overall it could have been sooo much better but with friends it's fun and addictive, alone not so much.
Given the highly repetitive mission design, weak story, and utter lack of environment (Mars looks all the same, Venus looks all the same, Earth looks all the same instead of a waterfall here, a frozen section there, a mountain over there, etc.). I doubt much of the $500 million budget went towards making the game and not marketing.
