xone, two controllers, 6 months of Live, 2 games for $400.
Just saying that a developer that's about to release a game that some previews are reporting has great graphics in lieu of exciting/fun gameplay may not want to say a game should be rated higher based on scope and art alone. It just supports the current concerns regarding its own game that perhaps the dev is focusing too much on graphics and not enough on locking down the gameplay.
Lots of games have had great art and innovative ideas that didn't come together to mak...
Probably not a good idea to attach yourself to defending Destiny, especially when people are saying your game may be a bit shallow as well.
That being said, Destiny is worth more than a 6/10 imo
I was expecting more of a massively online Skyrim in space with awesome gun play and class based strategy.
They got the gunplay but messed up everything else. Nothing interesting happens in this game. There are no NPCs, no story, no co-op strategy.
I tried really hard to like this game, I wanted to like it, I made it to level 20, tried to care about strikes, etc but it's just a bad empty and shallow game that requires no class strategy. It has zero person...
Zero NPC and zero story. Should have been a mix of skyrim, borderlands, and Halo with a greater emphasis on mutliplayer.
The gun play is good but not so good that it can exist devoid of everything else that makes a good game.
One side quest in Skyrim told a vastly more interesting story than the entire game in Destiny. Both have rather repetitive gameplay, with levelling but Skyrim made it fun at least. At least if you went off exploring something interestin...
Wish they remembered some of what made Halo so great....an extremely interesting story and character development plus worldclass extremely balanced PVP.
It boggles the mind that this game cost 500 mill. There's more content, gameplay variety and better story in 40 million dollar games. If anything it seems like it operated on a restricted budget.
It didn't even offer a single hint as to what the player's "Destiny" is. I can't bel...
For me personally it's just really disappointing. It's not a bad game but it's very average and repetitive.
And the story is absolutely horrible, which makes it hard to care about any of the missions. It's hard to imagine them making a more shallow story. It's terrible. Still not sure if I should just take it back in my 7 day window for a refund.
I've put some time into the game too and also feel it's a soulless grindfest but any game that is addictive enough to make me put more than 16hrs into it (or you a crap ton of time) deserves more than a 6/10. With friends I had some really fun moments but the game is hollow. I'm torn by what I should review it, probably a 7.5/10.
I wouldn't be able to put more than 2 hours into a 6/10.
I played about 16 hrs and wouldn't review the game a 6/10, more like an 8/10. There's something about the game that keeps you playing but I do agree Bungie messed up big time. I can't see myself putting in another 50 hrs into the game but the 16 I put in already had some amazing moments with my friends.
Everything though seems very bland or restricted. I wanted to explore the maps and find need caves and places, nope, can't do it and tit's filled with...
I think the long load times are due to the game finding a server.
I thought this was established last gen
Dimming doesn't help much. The DS4 battery life is terrible.
And I can confirm that the new controllers have a new rubber...it's more like the rubber on the DS3 - stronger but less grippy.
I have a feeling this will be a very good game. Hope they fixed the climbing.
Me too generally. Ideally they'd give a few options, 720/900 @60 or 1080 @ 30.
It's not just responsiveness. 60 FPS looks a lot cleaner when moving the camera, which is all the time. 30 FPS blurs quite a bit when moving so it's possible for a lower res game to actually look sharper when playing.
any increase in a sold frame rate looks good. 40 runs smoother than 30, 50 than 40, 60 than 50 and so on.
In fact to me, once it gets around 45-50 it have a very noticeable increase in smoothness.
Makes me wish Sony stepped with it's own engineers like MS and got the framerate up on PS4.
PS3 owners complained about constant updates that added very little in terms of features or functions. The same thing is happening with PS4, although thankfully the updates take less time to get back to gaming.
There's nothing I can say that wouldn't sound like trolling... I'll just say I'm not looking for second console at the moment. I'm very happy with my PS4 purchase and greatly enjoy it's current game catalogue and look forward to what's coming next to the console.
My only complaint would be the lack of meaningful OS updates, functions and features.
Have to say as a PS4 owner I am a little jealous of MS providing meaningful updates on a monthly basis. Good job MS, Sony should take note.
Even if my PS4 had meaningful updates quarterly I'd be happy...it's taking forever to improve functionality and features.
It's like Bungie made The Library level in Halo 1 into an entire game.
