Yeah Bungie is definitely trolling with the class useless legendary items.
All it really needed was a high quality 7-10hr story and it would have gotten 8s and 9s from most reviewers.
Don't know why Bungie (seemingly) put little to no effort in the story telling. Even a high octane action game, which are generally light on story would have worked better. So many opportunities for flashy events and breathtaking set pieces...could have had a meteor crash, a space battle, sparrow race, blue volcano eruption on Venus, large scale battle, etc. not ...
The 50 hrs I've putinto the game in a matter of weeks means it's not a failure for me.
The only thing that Destiny fails at is the story, which it utterly fails at.
I've heard of people that farm that cave for hours and get no legendary's. In fact, they'd be better off doing bounties and strikes as at least they'd get vanguard points and experience.
Bioshock 1 was amazing, that's it imo
I got two legendary items, both for a Warlock...I'm a Titan.
Bungie needs to fix that.
It has many flaws but it's not boring...with friends. I've had way more fun playing Destiny than I've had with other games that were critically praised...Bioshock Infinite comes to mind, Gears of War 3, Saints Row 3, Velocity 2x, the last 3 or 4 COD games to name a few.
If Destiny just had a quality epic 6hr-8hr story, it would have gotten 8s and 9s. I understand the bad reviews though. It's first impression, being the story, is so bad and the ending so pat...
The average person playing games doesn't care who Bungie are. They're buying it because it's fun with friends, irrespective of reviews.
Most gamers care little about the non-game playing side (internet forums, gaming sites, arguments, fanboy wars, etc.) of gaming. They just play the yearly iteration of what they like and what's popular.
A big difference between the average gamer and avid gamer, that when not gaming, is on the internet readin...
All I know is I'm having a lot more fun playing Destiny than other games that were given universal glowing praise...like Bioshock Infinite...and have gotten a lot more hours of playtime too.
In fact, sadly I'm only now realizing that the major reviewers like Gamespot, IGN, etc. don't know a good game when they see one. I'd rate Wolfenstein The New Order higher than Bio Infinite, Infinite was an FPS with boring gunplay, how does that get more than 7.

I was just thinking of this the other day, Bioshock Infinite is a game with an 7.5/10 story and 6/10 gunplay but it was universally praised. I got about 20hrs of game play out of it, a lot of it was tedious because the gun fights were boring.
Destiny has highly addictive gunplay but a horrible story and so far for me has offered over 45 hrs of gameplay but it gets panned.
Destiny is no 10/10 but it's not a 6 either just like Bio Infinite and Velocity 2X ...
This is probably the most impressive looking game I've seen on the next-gen systems. It's so fluid.
I still find a lot of games I love pretty easily. People look on the past with rose coloured glasses, a lot of those cherished games play terribly but people liked them do to the hype, graphics or novel gameplay mechanic just games like today.
Gaming keeps getting better imo.

If the game had an epic story but was otherwise the same it would have gotten 8s and 9s across the board.
The story was pathetic, when you pass the game it feels like they put in the least amount of effort possible towards the story and that feeling of the dev's utter laziness/incompetence then permeates throughout the rest of the game...but if you keep playing you also notice they did a lot of things right as well and with friends it's fun...for now.
Combat looks deeper than people have reported.

Your link just led to two equally sized TVs with similar features but the Sony is $500 more than the Samsung at regular price. How does that support your statement refuting that Sony products are often overpriced compared to the competition?
Not with two subscription models needed to play online.
