It's not about the Japanese being prejudiced to foreign hardware, they love iphones and many things from the US.
Xbox is made to appeal to American's first, UK second, then less so the further away your culture is from American culture. Particularly so in regards the value of Live gold.
They spent $400,000,000 on exclusive NFL content. It's America first for xbox and it's clear that they little to nothing to offer the Japanese gamer.
The intro level was really cool, game looked like it was going to be awesome, then when I actually experienced the gunplay it was horrible. It was probably just rushed and they didn't have time to tweak all the gameplay elements and work on AI.
It had a lot of great new ideas with the owl, ziplines, and stealth and if all the new idea's came together it could have been an amazing cross between Far Cry and Halo and probably an amazing game. Sadly it didn't.
Killzone Shadowfall was one of the worse games I ever played. Never played the multiplayer though. I loved KZ2 and KZ3 as well, which had great AI.
The AI ruined it.
My biggest problem with shooters is that they mostly all are what they used to be. Ever since COD4 there has been so little innovation, although Far Cry 3 was really fun. Good controls, lots of abilities, open environment, compelling story.
Battlefield Bad Company was going somewhere with highly destructible environments but that fell to the wayside of teh graphics.
They're all trying to be the next COD but the next COD will likely be nothing like COD. ...

What I don't get is the the focus of watching porn on the xbox, if he watched it on a Dell would the article have a huge picture of a Dell computer. Probably not. What does the device he used to watch it have anything to do with the egregiousness of the act?
It's actually pretty shameful that they'd try and sneak a jab at gaming and detract from the how horrible the actual crime is.
Is that with or without paying $60 for Live gold?
In Obliteration at least people kinda of look like they're trying to win and not just rack up kills.

MS built the xbox brand around features that predominately benefit the US only. The further your are away from US culture the less appealing xone probably is.

It's obvious that if you're not an American, you're a secondary concern for xbox division.
I think 720p with better effects, framerate and lighting would look better than 1080p in most cases.
PS3 and 360 could do 1080p, people are too eager to sacrifice a better looking/running game for PR moniker and somewhat noticble improved crispness.
Better AA alone can make a 720p look better than 1080p.
As a PS4 owner I hope we're given the option because I think the gains of 1080p aren't worth the other sacrifices.
It pauses the show/movie and your can't get back to it....because the controller is off.
As a launch purchaser i'd really like some OS customization and a YouTube app.
And an ability to turn off the light, proper standby, auto trophy syncing, way better rumble, a the ability to turn off the controller while watching Netflix, the ability to share to YouTube and directly to friends and a timer that shows precicely how much time spent on a game.

Devs and publishers didn't want the high risk high cost and low storage of cartriges.
Its a major reason ps1 dominated. Third parties flocked to Sony and CDs because it was far more profitable to release 25cent CDs than 8-12 dollar cartridges. Unsold games cost a lot less.

I much rather 720/60 FPS or 1080/30, 30 FPS blurs more in motion resulting in a less crisp image when moving around.
Anything that doesn't have a 4-5 star on PSN store is probably crap. Almost everything is highly rated for some reason. Most things are bordering on 5 stars.
Sorry to disappoint but it won't make N64 game magically 1080p, they'll be the same. It's useless unless your TV doesn't support to old format.
