But I don't mind that...the game looks and plays great...

Can't agree more....Side missions sometimes even surpasses the main storyline...Main storyline will unfold no matter what you do...but some side missions quests have to be found...There lies the biggest point of open world games because you have to explore it to find new missions...
Though Nintendo's games are always overlooked and ignored by Western award givers...to say these many games bettered TLoU this year is a blasphemy...The game is absolutely brilliant...only GTA V awes that much this year....
But if you seek signs of new innovations, you will not get any in TLoU....It didn't invent anything but brought old mechanics to their maximum limits...
If one has to award GoTY for new things, no big releases boast them...you'...
Totally agree...they provide way more quality content than any other devs...Being a mercenary dev hired by publishers, it works on a small time frame,but still tries to incorporate a sign of their own in even a well followed game(Fallout 3 to New Vegas).....All of their games that were bashed for bugs had something to do with publishers trying to release their game early....
Everyone will say Alpha Protocol is their worst game....but come on show me a better game with so much...
Finally Obsidian is back with a new game....can't wait....never felt cheated with Obsidian games....

I find these comparisons retarded....New Gen consoles have arrived only a month ago...to truly see these consoles we have to wait at least till this year's end when games designed for those consoles arrive...Old games are just ported with high res textures that's it...
Nope!!! I am always a PC Gamer...but every now and then venture into other territories...What Xbox has, PC also has them(99% of them) but Nintendo and Sony are not so kind to us PC gamers...so no other way but to go to them...

PS3 and 3DS had a phenomenal year....they are definite one-two.....but I would personally put 3DS on top because Nintendo totally reinvented themselves with age old titles and Man! its unputdownable....

I have always felt that Crytek never really was a true game studio....they make games to show off their engine's powers....before release of every single of their games they gather hype around graphics and graphics only...
Crysis 1 was good but because of the fantasy of "Can my pc run it?" hype....
2 was an effort to quickly capitalize on that hype...
3 was a good effort but fall short because of no clue on other game aspects except graphics...

After 3/4 years comes the glorious RPG year when all RPGs release....First 2007,then 2011...now 2014.....Can't they spread out the releases over the years....I still remember 2011 playing through all those titles one after another...then a huuuuge 2 year gap with little to no great RPGs...Now 2014....
