Wow, straight from the MisterXblog?
All likelihood... that tech won't be adopted until it's incorporated into mainstream computing.
It's more likely you'll see it in the Steambox first
One of my friends just broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years. He traded his Xbox 360 elite, 12 games and 2 controls in for 160-180£ and replaced her with an Xbox One :P
I was thinking I may do the same... (360 slim, 16games, 3-4 controls, but if they were to announce backwards compatibility I would be SOOOOO pissed off!
To be fair... although it would be great... online features surely wouldn't be available. I can't imagine them allowing for a ...
Hardly biggest fan base In The world.
I feel like it's another ploy. Perhaps Sony are lowering dev costs for 3rd parties.
I would t think they'd simply just pay more... They'd rather not pay at all...
If they managed to swindle ms out of 3rd party titles, it may give the image that devs are dropping the xb1. Although, that would be on the premise that the devs always have discount licensing.. When would decide to return to the platform the damage would've already been done.
It's an expensive business. At least they haven't been sued yet!
To be fair, they would've blown a lot of that anyway... even if the console was released a year later.
There would've been some costs incurred from introducing the 180's so eagerly voiced by the brats.
I still would've preferred the old vision for the Xbox.
If thats just the annual spenditure number, I'm glad to see they've put so...
It's still a small drop in the ocean for a multibillion dollar corporate business.
That cost was probably incurred by the considerable amount of changes that had to be introduced following E3 (2013).
They had already planned to blow a load of money on Console development. If they had released a year later, that money would've still been invested into console development.
I imagine a lot of the team ran up some serious overtime payment...
We should send Mattrick to the Gaza strip.
Everyone would just shake on it and call it a day
Just what IS a 'Zynga'?
Some kind of cake?
"Poof and.... it's gone!"
They should be sued for using the term "remaster" when they haven't done anything of the sort.
If it was a remaster
Audio... re-recorded, re mastered, EQ compression streamlined
Textures rebuilt from the ground up. Physics/geometry also.
Code recreated, then re-optimized.
Not some slap dash effort using half of their dev resource pool and regurgitated filed content from a year ago.
Better res and...
Good article.
Though generalised at times it hits the key points.
I like the reassertion how... by looking at present day PC games... you can expect to see that quality on console in a few years.
Are they using raytracing algorithms on PC games 2014?
Halo is <3
Halo vibe is not a problem at all.
The only problems with Halo were, alternate button configurations (bumper jumper killed balance from H3 onwards).
A tough learning curve for new players. If you stuck at it though, you'd become a great player at all console FPS.
P2P Host Client model meant that 1 person from each team was always on "God mode"... If that person was a poor player you were at a disadvantage.
There's pro's and con's to this.
1st year a user signs up they're faced with a flurry of new games to play great value for money IMO.
2nd year... just what will be new to the subscriber though? Cheaper DLC?
While every time somebody jumps on to a EA access... that's one more gamer from the already limited pool of gamers that isn't playing something else.
It could be very damaging for the industry's gaming p...
Delayed you mean
H1 - Banshees!!!!
H2 - Too Many NADES!
H3 - AR starts against good players. Daft Equipment
H4 - NeeNaww lobby music, Jet packs, DMR
I won't be throwing the XBO under the bus because of what PR tells me to think.
I just don't like PS games that much.
Definitly getting a One...It's just not on my priority list at the moment.
Maybe when my Dad's inheritance pays out in a couple of months?
Just in time for a H5 beta of sourts?
Also, a lot of the stuff in the article is just plain retarded. My thoughts below.
11) Kinect.... Should've been shipped with pre-installed games. If they really wanted to warrant the purchase, they should've pushed actual games installed as standard. The device does have value, but people don't like the games enough. The feature set it is capable of IS next gen.
10) 360's popularity - They want you to remember it's popularity. It is a gre...
I still don't think the vision they had was as bad as everyone made out.
No pre-owned games from GAME... I don't claim to know a lot about where your 40-60$ goes but with pre-owned games... dev's/pubs won't see any of it.
At least a gaming success would've meant the dev at the heart of it all would have received more funding for new work. Even if a dev had sold half as many games... they would at least have seen the profit they had earned...
Lol, win!
Why are people concerned if this is a bad move?
Amazon is huge! Considering how western buyers ranted for weeks about XB1 and PS4 'most popular' listings.
MS aren't complete idiots. Market research probably states that Indian buyers purchase their electronic equipment via the web...specifically amazon.
Contrary to popular belief the whole gaming community doesn't live on N4g... most people are out there playing games and actually don't give a toss.
Sorry to generalize.
N4g dissected:
30% Trolls
60% Fanboys
10% Gaming elite
of which...
75% are likely between 14 and 21
25% are likely 22+
I wonder how many people actually use this website?
5 thousand to...
