The PSPGo plus 10 free games is certainly tempting over here in Europe, but I think I'll be holding back on a purchase until Sony releases the PSP2.
And even then I won't be buying unless Sony rectifies the PSP's big flaw and gives us TWO thumbsticks.
Good review. Shame I just can't get excited about party games... on any console.
Hmm, game of the month, ya say? More of the same, I reply.
Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption both seem like stronger shouts to me.
Given the generally solid reviews recent iPhone releases have gotten, I guess they can't all be winners, eh.
Is this series any good? Never really been tempted.
I'd certainly play MMOs more if they were more geared to single player.
I really need to play this one of these days... single player though. You can keep your online, thanks.
So not interested. Would rather slam my tackle in the door than play Scrabble... on ANY gaming format (including the original board game).
'Spooling is four loosers.'
It's guns for show, knives for a pro!
Knives being Gran Turismo.
All the big guns will disappoint equally, mainly because the Net removes any sense of anticipation waaay before the E3 keynotes kick off.
If we could all stay off the Net, and sites such as N4G, then perhaps we'd be genuinely suprised come E3 each year.
Blur or Split/Second... either way they're both just temporary distractions until the next Need for Speed and, more importantly, Gran Turismo 5 (should Polyphony EVER bloomin' finish it!)
Such a shame. That said, now there's a clear blueprint on how NOT to make an espionage RPG, perhaps BioWare or Bethesda will move to show Obsidian how it should have been done.
Great score, but I just wasn't moved enough by the first game to splash the cash again. Yes, it was quirky and inventive, but I quickly lost interest waaaay to quickly.
Hmm. I don't think gaming will ever be a genuine threat to TV insofar as viewing hours are concerned. For the most part, people are lazy when it comes to seeking entertainment, and TV will always be an easy passive experience. Look at the complaints regarding something as simply as putting on 3D glasses!
There's far too much physical and mental effort involved in playing games -- and that effort is only getting more intense since the arrival of Wii and the advent o...
So Apple won't make a dent in the gaming space, eh?
I don't generally care to pay extra for trivial stuff -- armor, costumes and the like -- but substantial DLC that pushes longevity on a game I'm crazy about is fine. That said, it has to be content like BioWare puts out to get me interested.
Few more game reviews like this and my Apple resistance may finally break.
No real surprises here... does any age-old gaming character/series really stand the test of time if it hasn't evolved through time with us?
Look at the recent Bionic Commando reboot.
I feel your pain fellow LIVE users... but as more of an active PS3 user, I REALLY want to see Shadow of the Colossus and ICO on PSN.
It depends entirely on genre of course, but yes, I think good storytelling is mandatory. It makes good games great, average games good, and often saves poor games from being truly savaged.
For example:
Alan Wake's rinse and repeat gameplay gets stale pretty quickly despite the cloying atmospherics, but the intriguing story keeps you connected.
Similarly, the gameplay in Alpha Protocol is fundamentally broken in some respects (i.e....
