I get what Iwata is saying, but making 3DS games without 3D is a terrible idea. I'm all for taking advantage of the other features, but why can't that be done while at the same time utilizing the 3D? I understand that the gyroscope wouldn't be able to be used because it ruins the 3D by having to move the handheld, but no 3D on a 3DS game? Not sure how thrilled consumers would be about that one.

Now considering the difference in price ranges for those vehicles, an analogy comparing say a Honda Accord getting a price drop would indeed effect the value of a Toyota Camry since they are competing in the same market.
Rightfully so Nintendo should be worried about this. You don't do what they did and then think that people will fall for the same thing again. Okay, there are going to be plenty of people that would, but I for one have learned to wait when it comes to Nintendo consoles. The 3DS was the first that I bought early, and will be the last. A good year into the Wii U life and I may pick one up if pokemon with a good online system is there.
I've been hearing this idea that the Vita has suddenly lost its value now that the 3DS got a price drop, and I don't see how that can possibly be. If everyone recalls, people were speculating on a 399+ price point for the Vita considering the tech that it has inside. It's still priced extremely competitively and is packed full of value, despite Nintendo throwing all of their cards on the table.

I was really hoping for more battle footage. As someone who can't speak Japanese this did nothing for me. Still excited for the game though and really hoping it gets a US release.
It does have trouble with dark skinned users. My cousins have a kinect and I tried out that app that builds an avatar with your clothes and what not. Well long story short the kinect created me a completely gray avatar with really weird face issues. Tried it several times and the same thing happened. Normal games worked out fine though for the most part besides a few small snags here and there, but I don't think those had anything to do with color.
I've been trying to get that across to people since the price drop was announced goodfella. These games, especially if you dropped the 250 like I did, are costing me $80 (if you want to put a hard number on it). Games that I either had no interest in to begin with or have beaten time and time again already.
yeah, its not the best game ever lol, but I loved the story in Final Fantasy X so I made myself get to the end. I had to know if Tidus was gonna come back lol

I do feel bad for Tidus in final fantasy X but if you play X-2 you learn that things aren't completely bad for him.

when you choose to take advantage of someone its usually so that you can profit somehow. Obviously losing over 300 million is the exact opposite of that. I'm not saying Nintendo is doomed in any way, but to say that they wanted to do this is just as stupid as saying they're doomed.

my thing is, why haven't they addressed the fact that this is going to kill the original DS line a lot earlier than they had anticipated it dying. Right now this thing is price the same as a DSiXL and only slightly higher than the DSi. Who in their right mind would rather pick up one of those instead of grabbing the 3DS which can play all the same games for the same price?
This is obviously going to effect their projected DS sales, and it won't be long before its take...
Personally, Vita is number one on my list of must haves,followed closely by Uncharted 3. So regardless I'm picking this up day one. Can't wait, I really do hope this date is true.
Gonna be nice to see what the second half of Sony's exclusive can do. With classics such as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus and then the heavy hitters in Resistance and Uncharted. Gonna be an interesting holiday season.

who in their right mind would have predicted a 6 month price cut? Not even nintendo obviously, given the huge loss their going to incur because of this.
I would have expected maybe a year at the earliest which would have been fine because by then there would have certainly been some good games.
Halo will still sell like gangbusters, but I doubt it'll have the lasting effect that 3 had. Not even Halo Reach had the same effect as Halo 3 did. Only time will tell though.
