Kratos, Cole, Nathan Drake, Sly, Jak, the wanderer, crash bandicoot, daxter, sully, Elena, chloe, Zeke, sackboy, chimera (resistance), and so many more that I can't even think of right now.
Throw in some third party characters from the past like cloud, squall, Tidus, sephiroth, sora, riku, and you've got an instant hit.

Well the absolute latest it'll release is the end of march because thats the end of sony's fiscal year and they want this out before the start of the next fiscal year.

If they brought both games to Vita I would scoop both of them up. I plan on buying this anyway since it comes with both games, but if I could have them portable I'd definitely love that option.
The price drop started 2 days ago (3-4 if you count wal-mart starting early) here in the states, and a day before that in Japan. So its been less than a week. This article is just stating the japan sales we already knew about.
My game of the year is definitely infamous 2 thus far. I have a feeling uncharted 3 will steal that spot though.
I can definitely see the Vita hitting that many this year in Japan. It's gonna be flying off the shelves over there. They truly love their handhelds.

Also there is absolutely nothing wrong with multiplats selling well. You think Sony is mad because their third party partners are seeing success on their console? I highly doubt it. And as far as the exclusives go why complain about diversity? Why complain when someone can choose between infamous 2 and la noire? Giving consumers options is never a bad thing.
More of these indie type games will make the Vita irresistible. they're fantastic but can still be purchased for a cheap price. Casuals will eat this stuff up because of the prices. The core gamers will actually appreciate the innovative gameplay the indie devs tend to bring. It's a win for everyone.
