Why do people use the term 'ground breaking' like its going out of fashion?
I've not seen much over the past 20-30 years that I'd say was truly ground breaking. This term should be reserved for the truly earth quake inducing events.

They may be slower spindle speeds, but all modern drives at least use perpendicular stacking to gain a higher density on the platters, and therefore better transfer rates.

I don't own a high end pc and this notion that you need to spend a fortune to get a pc to play games is totally false.
I've just built a pc for a friend, literally handed it over two days ago. It cost £470 ish to build. Even though I put in a corei3 4130, it still had 8GB ram, SSD, decent PSU and most importantly AMD 7870 Tahiti chip card. This is only a little more than your precious console...
PS4? Sure if you want the limited experience.
