The more Neil talks the more I dislike ND.
The game doesn't sound good at all, a game based on religion... remember the synagogue scene in tlou2 where they give shovel fed a Jewish history lesson? Worst part in the game...guaranteed the religion in this game is a reskinned Judaism.

I wanted the main story to end but then I pissed about for a couple dozen hours exploring, hunting etc. The story didn't really grab me. The gameplay was great.

I wouldn't say better but I see where you're coming from.
Personally I enjoyed Days Gone from start to finish. 30hrs into Red Dead I felt it was dragging and wanted the story to wrap up but it just kept going and going.
However, worldbuilding, mechanics, depth, animations etc in Red Dead blow Days Gone out the water..

Tell you what Star Wars game I'd buy....1313 that looked great!

Anyway on topic, I was gonna pick this up at somepoint. Guess I'll pass now.

Is still can't get over the fact sony are remastering games that are less than 10 years old.

That depend on the assets. The code would probably need redoing, depending on what language is used in each engine but the meshes would be transferable. If they build USD into the OG engine they could transfer the majority of the assets over no problem. Would take some work but would be worth it.

Why would I be upset? I'm an adult. Honestly wouldn't give a shit. Infact, bring it on, more ps games on pc gives me more reason to buy a new gpu and ditch playstation. Not that they have any games to put on pc, other than a few ps4 games everyone's played to death.

I've had every major console since NES, bought 100s of games each gen for as many years as I can remember. I've bought 1 game this gen.
This is the first playstation console I'm skipping cos Sony has been nothing but a disappintment this gen.
Bought my ps5 specifically for tlou online, it got cancelled and my ps5 has been collecting dust pretty much since I got it.
Why would I upgrade when there's nowt to play on it.

Probably g...

They'll wait until ES releases and see how much console sales increase, ride that for a few month and then release on PS.

Sony wont allow it...

For the same reason they didn't allow Steam on PS.

Hopefully the increase means devs get more money. Day one release on gamepass isn't sustainable for studios. No wonder so many games get canned and studios are shutting down/laying off left right and center. I'd rather buy a game full price and know in hopes the studio will be able to keep releasing games.

I work in UE5 every day, I can tell you nanite isn't something you can see, you can turn it on and off and there is zero difference to the visualisation of your mesh. The only difference you could see is in the distance when it's using the fallback target. Even then it doesn't look different to LODs.. and you can adjust the fallback target. I tell you what, we can test you if you want? When I get to work I'll send you images of a mesh with and without Nanite? See if you can gu...

You do know ue5 has a massively upgraded lighting system, that and nanite can get pretty heavy depending on the scenes. It's not EPICs fault if devs are opting to use the new features and not optimising for it properly. It's more than likely budget cuts, Publisher pressure and lay offs that are forcing devs to release unoptimised games.
EPIC are constantly optimising ue5 and 5.4 runs much faster than .0, .1, .2 & .3.
If devs rushed in and released a game on .0...

What DLC costs money? If you mean NMS every content update has been free since launch.

686d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Devs just need to optimize properly, UE5 handles pretty much every aspect of development better than pretty much any other engine.
