I expect the difference in performance between the high end kepler's vs the 7970 would be similar to the difference between a 580 and 6970. They key here is price.
Off-topic: I hope Sony's next console will adapt nvidia and integrate Physx with it. This would entice developers to use it in all multiplatform games.
People must remember that the video game crash was brought upon by too many console manufacturers going into the industry. If Apple is smart, they won't venture out with this but rather focus on the AppleTV that they seem to be planning on.

It is okay to "steal" an idea as long as you reinvent it and innovate it to make an improve version of that idea. Every single company does it, because competition drives them forward.
If Wii U would be sucessful, The Ps3/4 and vita combo will also benefit becuase they will have 3rd party support that will utilize this tech.

The one that made $1 billion loss was the TV and mobile products under their consumer electronic division which is also where the Playstation is. The PS brand made profit for them (increase hardware and software sales) and was one of the bright spot for them. Still, it can't leverage the other two division dominated by Apple and Samsung.

Got a question, Is the 7970 really a great improvement over the 570 directcuII version. I know the benchmarks show vast improvement when compared to the 580 but I want real world performance. Its really hard for me to change manufacturer seeing that I always buy Nvidia products.
They need to hurry. I have always been a Nvidia buyer but the 7970's promos in our local store is tempting me.
