They are just putting PSN under SEN. Why change the name of the service? Its like changing the name of XBL because you have windows live account and changing youtube/google+ when you have a google account.

The PSP has a 10 year life cycle. They might not want to kill it yet unlike what ninty and ms did to their past consoles.

It works the same as a google account wherein it ties all services together. PSN is still there much but is tied into the SEN account. Much like your youtube account is tied to your google account.

He has a point. What makes a game memorable is not the graphics but rather the story and the gameplay. A game with all of the sophisticated textures and effects would be forgotten after 4 years as technology would move on and give games some new eye candy to play upon.
The future of tech is hard to foresee. I see that the trend right now are gadget that are jack of all trades. That is how smartphones came to be. Yet it is not a viable standalone device for surfing the web and some games. That is why there is the tablet. Tablets righ now might me a viable gaming
platform together with cloud gaming. However, the technology for that is not yet implemented. Perhaps, in the nearby future, all console manufacturers would create such device.

I also hook up my Pc to my tv and audio system along with my consoles. It offers so many functionality than a smart tv.
Gaikai really wants to kill consoles. What is wrong if my consoles offers me something more? I believe consoles as entertainment hub that offers functionality of a smart tv is the way of future.
It depends on the price, specs and games. I'll buy it if the price justifies the latter two.
@Colwyn, graphics isn't everything for consoles. The are many important aspects to consider such as gameplay (for MP), story and characters (for Sp) and innovation brought by the hardware. You are entitled to your opinion but you must keep an open mind.

The gap between 360 and Ps3 which is about 4 million is too small to call it a leader. The leader of this gen is the Wii. It proved that power is not everything for a console to be successful.
