The key question that they do not answer, and it would dumb of them to answer, is how much of the GP sub pot gets redistributed to the game developers.

I would be very surprised if developers get paid more for their game whenever Game Pass subs increase.

Devs should be clued into this metric, because that is how they can estimate how much releasing their game on a sub service will cannibalize their only other revenue stream for their hard work: traditiona...

Halo 1-3….? Gears 1-3? Dying Light 1?

It IS a cool setting, solid praise there.

Well, then maybe frame it as a rumor, instead of “will” happen ;)

Crackdown was supposed to show off the power of the cloud, the Azure network.

People don’t forget.

Bad idea.

Exactly, everyone jump in the M$ pool instead of risking not finding a spot on the beach.

Give people choices.

Then, buy the local ice cream truck and have the driver stop driving to the beach, and just hang out in the pool parking lot all day instead. M$ will eat the losses.

Make them visit the pool for ice cream.

Disagree, I’m sure the community likes it just fine, and enough people are playing or whatever. Game Pass usage would have also had an inevitable drop off as well, and the devs might’ve made less money that route to boot.

Game Pass is a great plan B if the launch fizzled, or if market research indicates the launch WILL fizzle, and they NEED word-of-mouth/exposure.

Sons of the Forest just doesn’t look like either of those cases to me from my perspective… ...

Yeah, probably… albeit it might just lower the bar for the entire industry when they decline.

No, you should be soothed by Redfall at 30 fps next month, and the promise of Starfield by year’s end.

And you should be happy that CoD is coming to Game Pass in two more years.

Why are you not happy? Did your Game Pass sub lapse? Surely the Game Pass library was enough of a reason for you to buy a $500 XsX.

Based on the polished gameplay shown off, unlikely.

Curb appeal matters, and this game just doesn’t have a ton.

Graphics aren’t mind blowing, vampires could be mistaken for Zombies, and none of the characters seem M-rated “cool”; it’s gonna need word of mouth like Dying Light, which worked great for them.

If $500 million in Xbox’s hands can’t make a Halo game, then can $80 billion make a gaming ecosystem for them?

I’m expecting them to ruin what they buy, not support it for the better, like “the competition”.

“If M$ buys all of the cows, then you’ll need to sub to Game Pass to enjoy your cereal.”

Just show a timeline of what 4 AAAs a year will look like…. Is it even possible for Xbox to fulfill that promise without this monumentally large acquisition?

I’m surprised more MGSV mechanics aren’t copied to improve other stealth games.

Quick dive is huge.

I guess the games are coming, but they will still need to be patched later.

You are literally paying money for loading screens.

And $30 is a game…. Pavlov is $25 full price.

Hard pass.
