Do any of these politicians even game?
Can they appreciate how Xbox made their own 10+ year game drought?!?
Why can’t I call it H2 under a H2 article?
Well, I guess those regulators don’t have friends that made them buy an Xbox for the last two gens for zero reason except that they are arbitrarily unwilling to play Madden on PlayStation…
That, and maybe a combination of bribes and indifference for video games.
I’m hoping for more tactical shooters myself. I usually like Rainbow Six enough to not even care about CoD existing, but I feel like Siege is a little too untactical with its Hero system, all for the sake of long-term monetization.
Well damn…. Color me curious.
*edit/analogy update
1st party games usually are like fast food entrees; nobody buys them all, but most buy at least one.
3rd party hits like CoD are like fries; they are the only fast-food side option that literally everyone gets, no matter what. There are no meaningful alternatives offered in the marketplace.
Well, now it is impacting my favorite creative market, so I’m paying attention now…
In this analogy, fries are the best selling 3rd party franchises, not all game developers. 1st party developers would be cheeseburgers…?
…really? Zero thoughts you wanna share?
…. No follow-up comment?
I’m guessing Sony is happy with their progress on their mystery game….
Does anybody know what they’ve made before?
Imagine if BK used lottery tickets, not food revenue, to buy up ALL of McDs and Wendy’s potato fields worldwide; that way, if we, the consumers, wanted to have fries with our burger, then we’d need to go to BK: the home of historically THE worst fast food fries.
That’s what M$ is doing with the gaming industry: they are taking revenue from outside the gaming market (ie worldwide Office subscription revenue), and using it to artificially limit what their competitors in the g...
I think they overpaid for CoD.
They are selling loading screens now… if people are paying attention, then they might FINALLY be treated with the decline they deserve.
It’ll be good, maybe even great, but just, unfortunately, unlikely to be enough to finally “wow” purchasers of “THE” strongest console ever after 2.5 years of patiently waiting for the games to finally come…
Horizon 2 looks fantastic, but I’d even put R&C above it.
Both DS and R&C look better than H2 for me. Albeit, H2 is much more open world than either of the other 2 games.
A very small-scale game, such as Wolverine, will blow all of them out of the water at some point this gen.
There’s nothing wrong with that. GTA games never had THE best graphics, either. You don’t need to, H2 is plenty pretty.
How so? The villages are pretty unique and developed culturally…. Plenty of flora and fauna, too.
Yeah it isn’t worth comparing console games to PC…. PCs always have better hardware.
Console-only is the only apples to apples comparison to make.
You’re thinking of the Demons Souls remake
@Pete
Firstly, you contradict yourself by saying “That question has been answered” AND “it's case by case” in the same breath.
I know it’s case by case, and my issue is that it is without ANY standardization. It is a completely open ended negotiation with devs. It should be a function of their game’s value to the sub service, imo, such as based somewhat on usage metrics.
Instead some games are bribed like kings, and others are dan...
Lol, no you don’t.
