it didnt receive excellent reviews. what it did was remove half of the features of D1. gambling for cosmetics, be it with ingame or real life currency. They lied to the community several times, they throttled the exp gain and several other things. I call that a failure, ive lost my trust in bungie as a company for just straight up lying to consumers and then backpeddling "it was a mistake we are so sorry", when users find out.

@firelogic, im pretty sure it wont. Engines get modified (greatly) for newer games. Look at Titanfall for example, using a 10+ year old engine(source) and it still looked great on release. THey also created the luminous engine (or w/e its called) with future in mind so i doubt theyll just copy paste the engine.

Story in Borderlands 2 was so enjoyable, mainly because of the characters. But what makes a story good, does it need to be complex, unexpectiing, fun? the story Borderlands 2 was trying to tell, they succeeded in that and for that I think its a good story.
not releasing on steam isnt anti consumer if you provide another way to purchase the game for similar price, you lose around 30% of your game sale if you sell it there. If you have other means to sell your game on a digital platform it makes much more sense. Thats why a lot of publishers are making their own platform.
