they do that because they compare the best running/looking version of console to the pc version to see if the pc version is an improvement over the console version. They dont compare loading times because there hardly are any. They didnt give x1 a break on framerate fluctuation in their first MHW video. Capcom never did a great job at porting games to PC. Havent played this one so cant comment on MHW, but from my previous experiences with capcom PC ports, I rather buy their console games.
well monster hunter was niche before MHW so thats not an excuse for not being able to compel to a greater audience. And u really missed some game, form the top of my head: Nier, Dark Souls, Ni No Kuni 2, street fighter V, Dragon Ball Fighterz and i probably missed a lot of other ones.

a character being overpowered is not really a controversy. 0.9 was but that was a one time incident (maybe more matches in that tournament but still only that tournament). They patched diddy decently fast for nintendo standards and hes fine now, still great, but not unbeatable. bayo is another thing, just not fun to play against. as far as im concerned only bayo made a dent in smash 4 so I dont see the overall pro scene as tainted at all.

I disagree, I love ES for its minimalistic storytelling and making the world the main character in their games.I do think they could improve the storytelling a lot, but they dont need to make it Witcher style. Elder Scrolls leaves a lot to the imagination while Witcher doesnt. The reason I love reading is that it gives my imagination a freepass to do whatever it wants, Witcher doesnt give me that (the books are another story). I hope ES keeps their style but ups the quality of it.
While its obvious to compare the 2 games because they are both open world rpgs, in my opinion people make a mistake comparing the two. The games are nothing alike, ES gives you all the freedom to do in the world what you want while Witcher 3 is a handcrafted rpg that leads you along the path created by the developers (ES also does this in a way but its not as prominent).
my bad about mh being niche, i meant that for the western world in comparison to japan. SF5 wasnt console exclusive, it was ps4 exclusive but it launched on pc as well. I think games that sell 3-5 million are huge games, yes not as astronomically huge as a MGS5 or FF 15, but still huge. I think its actually a phenomenol achievement for Nier to reach the units sold that they did.
