you cant just 'emulate' pc titles, same as u dont just walk into Mordor. It requires the game to be programmed again because its a different architecture. It's also not possible for the xbox to automatically enhance the titles. Do you think a console can just create new higher res models out of thin air (mind you, upscaling uses the same models and is not the same as remastering)?

The game has a solid base to expand upon with more and new activites, which it lacks now. If rare can expand upon this in the near future it might become a good full fledged game. What does it matter what look they choose for the game? Id say its fitting for the game they set out to create.

Don't get your hopes up of it releasing soon, they said it wont release on this console gen anymore due to the consoles being underpowered.

1. Smash is not 'a fighting game' its a platform brawler. There is a big difference between a regular beat em up and smash.

THe players and potential customers maybe, use brain please. in regular fighting games the stages dont matter that much, but since smash is based on platforming it matters a lot. it doesnt to me, its just as they did with smash 4 when they announced a new character. they are just saying smash 4 is coming to the switch and at least the Inklings are there as extra characters. And based on how the logo and the text looks (exactly the same as smash 4's) I dont see this being a new game.

what new logo? u mean exactly the same logo as smash 4...... the fire smash ball looks exactly the same as smash 4's intro.
Even the title letters are exactly the same as smash 4's besides the white lines through the letters.

@tekloie this isnt a teaser, this is a character announcement and saying that its for the switch in 2018. Aesthetics are exactly the same as Smash 4. Knowing Sakurai he will probably add a lot of new stuff in and make it feel fresh.
It does point toward it being a port, if they would announce a totally new smash bros game they would do i differently I think. They would start of to show the full cast of smash bros and show the inklings at the end. What they did now is basically a spin on 'A new challenger appears'.
Also the style of the logo is exactly the same as smash 4's. Im 100% sure it's a port.
@Vermin It's still an amazing game even after 4 years. I think they rerelease it because the Wii U sold poorly so not 'enough' people got to play it. If they add a story/adventure mode. Put all of the 3ds content in the switch version as well, add a few character favorites (ice climbers, wolf, King Krool), maybe even tag team fights and some other new modes I think it will feel pretty refreshing.
There might still come a totally new version for switch but I dont...

@teflon even if both are pc like builds, they differ a lot. Pc games get built from the ground up with a spectrum of hardware in mind, thats why a lot of games have several options to adjust graphical quality.
It will surely be a lot easier from ps4 to ps5 than from ps3 to ps4, but they wont just be able to be played on ps5 without the proper adjustments to the ps5, they probably wont need a new chip but if the ps5 has a new OS than it wil require more work to get them run...
