I dunno. I've got a limited amount of time as well with a demanding job, wife , and kids, and f2p doesn't intefere in any way...
I guess what your getting at is that f2p games are more time consuming... But in my experience they are designed to be played in short burst...
I simply don't understand how people can be so close minded...
The gaming industry needs to have diversity in revenue models. Are their some abusive examples of F2P games? Absolutely! But their are also full priced games that don't give gamers their money's worth, or lock content behind DLC paywalls. Those practices are equally abusive.
On the other side of the coin, there are games that do F2P correctly. They aren't all pay 2 win grind fests....
I have seen no such fury...
MS getting PC gamers into the Xbox mix should do wonders for xbox software sales, and that makes the Xbox platform as a whole more attractive to developers...
So whatever they gotta do to get more gamers onboard, I'm all for it... That means gamers win.
Most sites don't give separated review scores across platforms... Generally the difference in performance is so marginal, it really doesn't have an effect of the overall experience.
Only when a game performs so poorly on a specific platform that it is actually less fun, would reviewers write separate reviews.
EA Access simply provides consumers with another way to rent/buy/try games. It in no way effects your ability to aquire the same games through other means.
You can still wait for a game to go on sale in the XBL store... In fact, if your an EA access member, you'd get an additional 10% off any EA game you buy from the XBL store... Even if it's already on sale.
It's a great service... Anyone weary of having another subscription can just use it as a monthly rental service when a game you're interested in lands in the vault.
As far as I can see, the policy hasn't changed.
1) They prefer games to release at the same time on all platforms.
2) If a dev is financially unable to do that, speak w/ MS, and get a waiver...
3) if there's a significant delay, add some content to the xb1 version to make the wait worthwhile.
A modernized Jet Force Gemini would make me go bananas
Well, Spencer made the comment that Xbox is no longer about gaming on consoles, it's about gaming on Microsofts platform.
Whether you are buying your software on PC or on an Xbox console, you are still buying into their ecosystem...
What will it mean for sales of Xbox? Probably nothing... People who like to play on consoles will still play on consoles. But what will it mean for developers developing Xbox games? A ton. Because they can simultaneously t...
@macdaddy71
So sports games are only worth playing in season? News to me..
@amiga-man
Actually, the HMD does do some processing in conjunction with the PS4... That's how their 'reprojection' tech works to help create the illusion of higher frame rates...
But if you think games that look like current PS4 games running at around 30fps (drive club, the order, infamous second son) are going to be able to run at 120hz just because you plug in a headset, your setting yourself up for disappointment...
VR games...
No. In order to hit 120fps, there will have to be compromises to visual fidelity. The idea is that the immersion afforded by playing in a virtual game world offsets any reduction in detail.
@rokstevonidas
They build them with hardware that they.... (Dun, Dun, Dun) BUY!!!
PC gaming hardware sales count towards PC gaming revenuess, just like console gaming hardware counts towards console gaming revenues...
In fact , gaming hardware is the driving force behind PC gaming growth... Those guys keep upgrading their rigs...
This article is about the PC gaming market... The amount of money consumers are spending on PC gaming is GROWING, in spite of slower PC sales .
Netflix has some great original shows (Orange is the new black, house of cards) and can get you caught up of network shows you missed or where unavailable in your country. They also have tons of films ranging from obscure indies to Hollywood blockbusters, spanning decades...
There's tons of content...
I'm not saying you should NEED a live account to play the game (DRM), but if they wanted to implement cross-play, allow people to carry their progress or DLC purchases over to the PC version, or use any of the Xbox on windows perks (Xbox rewards, dvr, achievements, friends lists, etc) there would need to be a way to link to their xbox live account.
My question is if user buy games through steam, do they have the option to utilize online services other than steam?
...
@lawson72
It's not about the drm. It's about the cross-play... Surely the user would need to be on Xbox servers for that to work...
I'm pretty sure Ms said the first DX12 games were shooting for holiday 2015 launches...
I don't know much about how steam works. Couldn't they sell games on steam, but still require the user to log into an Xbox live account to play online?
I disagree...
6-7 imply that a game is fun, but not special.
Under a six means a game is bad... Broken games should get 0-2... As they have no redeeming quality.
If someone isn't having fun with a game, they shouldn't arbitrarily assign it a 6-7 just because it works...
