I don't have a gaming PC, but the idea of being able to play my Xbox from any room in the house, is very appealing to me!

2k's greediness ruined evolved for me. My friends and I were excited to play it, but once we heard about the pricing scheme, we all decided against buying it.

I think the The model being used for Fable legends is perfect for it. Actually I think it would probably be overlooked if it were a full priced title.

Not enough data to tell, but if it is true , kudos to Rockstar for their attention to detail. They are masters of parody and no one is better at making fun of American culture.

Adjusting for inflation game prices have gone down or are about the same....but they are more costly to develop, which would explain why we are getting less content, and more nickel and dime schemes...

I think publishers need to rethink how they release games. I say they tier the releases, like movies...

Give the best bang for the buck to people who buy in the first week (free season pass for example). After awhile, allow the game to be digitally rented. All ...

Xbox one sales don't matter as much as Xbox software sales. Between xb1 and PC Microsoft doesn't care which platform your playing on, so long as they are profiting from the sale of the game.

If it gets to the point where, devs can make a game once, and sell it on the console and PC version of the Xbox store, then suddenly the Xbox installed base is massive, even if sales of the console doesn't pick up.

Surely, they will never be #1 this gen... But the correct attitude to have is "play until the buzzer blows"

If they play to win, even if they lose, their customers win, and the industry wins thanks to competition.

It's because both Movies and Music have several means of gaining revenue. With movies, they've got theatrical release, then pay-per-view, then dvd sales, then streaming service contracts and network TV contracts.

With music they've got single sales, album sales, performances, streaming , etc.

With games for the most part, they've just got sales ... Which are front loaded... And dlc

Sounds fun, hopefully they continuously update the game with new characters and maps... But ofcourse, that would depend on if the game is good enough to compell people to buy stuff over time.

Kind of a strange article considering the most recent patch being so effective... The match making Lobbies must be quite full, because finding games takes no time. If MCC was 'dead' at launch, then it's been resurrected.

No, but I think the fact that Sony, a master of marketing, is struggling to leverage this feature in its marketing campaign is telling.

If they had a strong way to get people excited about this feature, they'd be doing it.

Share play is tough to advertise. It's a great feature, no doubt. but while people jump at the idea of being able to play games they don't own, they are less excited about the idea of watching someone else play their game. Yes, there's 'local mp' opportunities, but most games are 1 player per console these days...

It's just a tough feature to market effectively...

You must not be interested in playing those halo games online...
Halo1-4 servers are either non-existent or completely unpopulated... Meanwhile on MCC games can be found in minutes, and are in dedicated servers.

But yes Xbox slim would be very interesting

Cool. I thought I was done with MCC, but since the latest patch, I've been addicted to the MP now that it actually works...

It doesn't look like I'll be playing anything else for a while...

I'm still baffled as to why they called this a battlefield game...

If they would have simply called it Hardline and treated like a new IP, I might be able to stop comparing it to the battlefield games that I actually want to play. Instead, i see just a lesser, uglier, wannabe battlefield game with weird mission structure...

@icanplaygames2

People aren't 'sifting ' through anything. They are dismissing anything that has F2p on it.

People would rather spend $60 on a full priced game and get burned (halo:MCC, assassins creed unity, destiny, unity, drive club etc) than see if a free game is worth the miniscule barrier of entry. It's madness...

I usually don't care much about resolution, but bf4 looked aweful on xb1.... Worse than many other xb1 games at the same resolution. Just poor image quality all around. The fact that a year later with the same engine these guys couldn't do any better is sickening... In fact, in many ways it looks worse than bf4
Ps4 version should be 1080p and the xb1 at least 900p

That's crazy... I'm enjoying project spark, Killer Instict is fantastic and many people enjoy warframe and DCU. I look forward to fable legends and smite in xb1. LoL and Dota, PC games are two of the most popular games on the phone planet....

To say that f2p only belong on mobile devices... Ignores all of the good f2p games that appeal to core gamers.

4146d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

I get the apprehension, but I don't understand the outright dismissal.

F2p is easy to get wrong, but if gamers dismiss the concept outright, instead of judging each game on its own merit, then developers and publishers will never get it right...

I quiver, but I never instantly say "I'll pass". It never hurts to try it first... After all, the game is free to play...

That's the thing, they don't 'berate' the game because it's linear. They knock against linearity comes because the game design within those confined spaces, isn't very fun...

There are many linear games that are widely considered good games. Despite their linearity, they invite the gamer to return to those play spaces time and time again. The problem with the order is that many design decisions and shortcommings work against linearity... The slow walki...

Actually, I disagree with the notion that reviews are supposed to be objective.

Actually, they are supposed to act as recommendations on whether or not the gaming experience is worth while in the eyes of the reviewer.

So much about gaming is subjective, so it's completely impossible to give an objective review...

Only the technical aspects of a game are objective- poly counts, texture quality, AI sophistication, frame rate, resolution, e...
