Flip flopping on what? Remote play works best when your close to the ps4. When your away from your ps4, you'll need vita games.
Xbox one kinect isn't in need of saving... It it was, this game wouldn't be it...
I don't see the logic in this line of thinking. There's a huge chicken and egg problem with the vita. I it's a great device, but lacks games and an attractive install base. Remote Play solves thy problem by giving people a reason to by the device, despite the lack of games. Now, developers suddenly have financial incentive to support the device. Its a win win.
Remote play doesn't kill the need for vita specific games. It is still a mobile device, and remote ...
Haven't played the game, but it is because your in an online mode?
Update: yeah according to this review, the always online nature of this game explains why there is no way to pause. The only way to suspend the action is to drive into a hideout or command post.
The game looks like fun...
I've seen more dr3 adds than any other Xbox 1 launch game.
It likely was true, but Sony didn't appreciate being thrown under the bus.
DR3 8
KI 9
Forza 9.5
Ryse 7
I'm taking a leap on KI, but everyone loving the gameplay and it's $20.
That's because Respawn has already crushed that rumor.
Huh? No Halo, No Fable legends, No Quantum Break, No Project Spark. No Destiny.. Strange list my friend. And by strange, I mean shitty... Lol
Resolution isn't the end-all-be-all of graphical improvements. 1080p is awesome, but better textures, character models, effects, shaders etc are even more noticeable, regardless of the quality of your tv.
Besides 720p isn't an xb1 standard. Most of the games are 900p and up. And obviously overtime the situation will improve
"When we first were dealing with the specs, we went “Ok, what are we gonna do with this, where are we heading, what would constitute a next gen game?” and the thing that we immediately drafted forwards is resolution."
Based on that, It appears to me that visuals is their #1 priority. That's what I take issue with. I understand he's not saying resolution effects gameplay. I just feel like the philosophy should be, "when we look at these specs, how can we...
Of course he would say that, his game has it.
Me personally, I'd take a leap in AI complexity over 1080p. Gameplay over resolution, every time.
While several games look really fun to me, The only 'next gen' game I've seen so far is Forza 5 with the drivatar system. Everything else, gameplay wise, has failed to improve or innovate over current gen. They just threw on a shinier coat of paint.
His mindset that 1080p is what makes a next g...
True, but you start getting into diminutive returns. But for my money, I can think of other fun things that processing power could be used for.
The most important thing in a racing game is responsive controls. I'd take 720p/60fps over 1080p/30fps any day of the week. The same goes for fighters and shooters. No doubt, the best option would be to ave the best of both worlds, but if a developer has to compromise, I'd prefer they went for gameplay over resolution.
It means that they are more likely to use it. The proof is in the pudding. BF4, Nba2k14, madden, need for speed: rivals, Forza 5, Ryse, dead rising 3, zoo tycoon, FIFA 14 all use kinect in some way. Why is it being incorporated into more core games than the playstation camera? Because the install base justifies doing the extra work.
@RonRico
If you don't the kinect, then you don't want the xb1. It's part of the package.
Why is no one complaining that MS is forcing you to buy a $500 HDD, or a headset, or a controller? Because they are part of the standard package.
Try to get a ps4, and a comparable universal remote for under $500. Then come talk to me.
What about the fitness enthusiasts who are also gamers? Or who happen to live with gamers? It's not just about being a system seller... It's about getting more people in the household to use the system.
