You're right, it isn't hard. People have made PS2 emulators for PC. What makes you think SONY of all people can't make a PS2 emulator. It's the fact that they want money for their PS2 sales for as long as they can.
PS1 games aren't ported over, I believe. That means they don't mess with the code. And I'm sure Square has better things to do than add trophies to FFVII on PSN. Like finish those handful of RPGs we've all been waiting for for so long now.

I'm pretty sure that the BC PS3s can play PS2 games online so I'm sure it would happen.
If they emulated it and put it up on PSN, I'm sure they could take the 5 seconds to change the text saying "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PS2" TO "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PS3."
Watch. SONY will drop the price of the PS3, release an update that has a PS2 emulator, and put a few PS2 games on PSN.
After that all of the PS2 owners out there waiting for a PS3 price drop will SWARM the shelves :)
That's my dream, and a reason for why SONY would want to do that.

Game was announced as a launch title for PS3. It was delayed since Level-5 didn't want to condense the story and drop the quality since they had plans to make it big. It was released in Japan. Now it's being localized for us. This isn't anything remotely new in the gaming industry so your upset is pretty laughable.
There are 3 trees per class. Each tree has its fair share of skills. Not all of them were useful though, is the thing. Many were just used as a synergy to increase the power of a superior spell.
There is PLENTY of variety in viable classes though, especially factoring in optimal gear for a build.
You guys should start up a videogaming blog. I'm sure you'll be way more popular with your expert researching techniques.
