@Lord Maim
Yes, you are spot on. When I said fanboys, I was also thinking about the other side.
You said it perfectly. Often, the fanboy defence is nothing more than a retaliation to haters.
Eg : The Order 1886
"Reviewers are just xbots" "Everyone wants only open world games" "They're missing the point, they're stupid, they are bashing the game for no reason"
is only a response t...
On PC, pCars has advantages over Driveclub.
However, these advantages are only the typical ones that PC gives over console. Things like picture quality, resolution, ultra high res textures, lots of cars, etc etc. Is that going to make a difference ? Ofcourse it will !
However, the fact is the pCars rendering is simply not as advanced as DC. Environments are fine. You know what really is distracting in pCars ? Lighting and reflections. Especially reflections. Unli...
*sigh*
I suppose for the bloodbourne reviews, they were all on point and intelligent right ? The Last Of Us ? When they review games and give them 10/10 they're all fine. When they give a game 6 or 7/10, they were just being non sensical and 'mindless'
'most of them totally off base and mindless'
So most reviews didn't have legit criticism ? Right. Ok. If you say so.
Are you happy to settle in with the fanbo...
It's just that when a reviewer says he/she didn't like it, everyone starts the whole 'the reviewer just sucks' 'reviews are useless anyway' and 'this site is not credible, they just lost my respect' etc etc
It's like no one can understand that critically acclaimed games are not going to strike a cord with everyone, and there are bound to be lower review scores. What they're doing is stupid.
To make it worse, this game is an ex...
Per object motion blur looks great in some games. The best game to demonstrate this for me was Crysis 1 and Warhead. Absolutely perfect motion blur.
Depth of field to a certain extent is always nice, can be a nice effect
The more severe depth of field is also really good in some cases. Not only is it a matter of fashion, but it actually increases the quality of some scenes, by ensuring that only the best looking part of the scene is rendered clearly for you to watch. ...
I'd first play it with the normal skins and everything. Experience it in all seriousness.
Then I'll wear all those skins on my second playthrough :D
I don't know, a lot of people (myself included) would want another superhero game from them :D
I thought infamous was brilliant, atleast 1 and 2. Haven't played Second Son.
Wait what ?
This is another job listing article
WOW, clickbait nonsense.
Great job ! Keep it up. The most pointless articles in the world. It was ridiculously stupid with Mass Effect 4, now this.
Once you have some, you know, actual information about the game, please share it with us. This is so retarded.
Isn't it more or less confirmed that the next Half Life is in the works ? Whatever stage it's at.
You could maybe kind of make a point against it in that it has less mass appeal than Batman or The Witcher.
Even then, it's pretty obvious its a huge contender.
I mean, it's got 9s and 10s prettymuch throughout, the highest ratings possible. It's here to stay as a GOTY contender.
Its nice that you enjoyed it. At the end of the day, lots of people are going to enjoy it.
Still, imo there's a lot of wasted potential in this game and Ryse.
I can't tell how the gameplay feels for either one because I've only watched the entire walkthroughs, but I know that from a presentation and story standpoint, both those games had gameplay that didn't really look interesting, instead, they actually worked against believability of story in both...
These articles are almost as bad as the job listing articles. A job listing says "we want an art director who can produce state of the art... AAA quality... take graphics fidelity to new levels"
Article will be something like - 'Next Mass Effect game to look incredible, will push character fidelity to new levels'
Well, it looks different. Is it better ?
In some ways, yes.
In other ways, no.
If you're running pCars on a PC at ultra, it's going to show. That many cars with such sharp detail and ultra high res textures. Anti Aliasing, resolution. It's all going to make a huge difference, and look much better a lot of the time.
I also personally like the overall weather (NOT talking about rain windshield stuff here...) in pCars.
Where the f*** is the indirect lighting from the torch bouncing off the torch then onto geralts boots and then back to the ground and then lighting up his elbow ????
FreakinG DOWNGRADE !!! FREAKING...
On a more serious note, if there's one thing I would criticize about the visuals here, it's that some of Geralt's armour and equipment is getting hit by/reflecting the torchlight even when it clearly should be in shadow. It's a distracting thing ...
You're kidding right ?
Wow.
The thing is, it's not just polygon.
What really shows how stupid this mentality is :-
The moment any site scores any exclusive low, eg The Order 1886, remember all the outcry all over n4g comments ? You can like the game and disagree with reviews, but no. It's the exact same thing as this. All review sites suddenly become XBOX fanboys. Whether it's Polygon, or IGN, or all reviewers as a w...
You know, there is a slight chance that if they rated TLOU low, they just... didn't really like it ?
One of their reviewers didn't like it that much ?
Their site doesn't become a joke because of that. Totalbiscuit tried TLOU and didn't really like it because of control issues or something. Is he a joke ? Not quite.
I've only watched a lot of TLOU in action (walkthroughs), and to me it was incredible. Simply the best game out ther...
Oh can you stop with the score comparisons ?
They make very little sense. Review scores are so subjective and varied, done by different people, differently for different kinds of games.
Yet people are always using scores as arguments, comparing scores of completely different games
Evolve and Bloodbourne. Rather pointless.
".1 better than evolve? Lol evolve should have gotten a 7 if this gets a 9.1 and ori gets a 8.5...at leas...
Completely missing the point of this article, and the point of why nudity and sex are restricted to certain age groups, and how it differs from violence. Seriously, violence and sex are completely different altogether. The comparison you make does not achieve anything.
What is strange ? Everyone keeps saying "You have no problem with violence, but sex is so bad ?"
Everyone says that without looking at the specific situation
The sex scene in GTA5 is weird and looks more awkward than anything. Thats just how it is. Why ? Presentation. Its uncanny for the most part - the NPC model looks really strange too.
The south park sex backdrop is a bit awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Simply because it's presented t...
"after The Order; the whole concept of the traditional review format got trashed by many N4G posters, only to be embraced again when the metacritics scores were sky high for BB"
Exactly. The whole bashing reviewers thing is plain hypocritical, and it's so evident to see. The people doing that were just as bad as the haters who said
"linear, QTE Borefest" everywhere. Both of them are hypocritical. They are both just the opposite sides of a poin...
