This was found out on Day 1. Quite a few sites reported it.
People should realize that this applies to Sony as a whole, and not just the gaming division.
This is simply a way to cut costs over all their departments.
Or you know, it's just a way of adding additional content to a game people seem to enjoy?
Stop acting like MS is some form of hero.
The -only- reason MS even bothered to extend the warranty is they had been given an ultimatum. Extend the warranty and deal with all the broken boxes, and publicly accept the the problem was too big.
Or, have a complete recall on every single one of their consoles, which would have completely taken them out of the console market.
Which do you think they'd rather take?
I'm not saying ignore people. I'm saying have some proof they actually owned a defective console.
There's a difference between ignoring people, and actually trying to find accurate accounts of broken systems. Like I said, you can't take their word, you need more than that.
The best way? Retail. Most people who own a defective console will do one of two things. Call the store they bought it from, or Sony themselves, and to be quite honest, I'm going with the first opt...
The point when reputable sources, such as retail outlets, and major publications are writing about how they've experienced, or witnessed the hardware failures in large numbers.
Neither of those have happened for Playstation 3, however, they did happen for Xbox 360.
And again, I'll mention how I've had 10 Xbox 360's die on me. Except, I never owned one. You simply can not take -anything- you see at face value, simply because there's a large chance they could be lying....
Well, considering there's little to prove it's anywhere -near- the failure rate of 360, it's not going to get the same attention.
Electronics fail. As far as anyone can tell so far, they're normal failures so far.
If there were actually some mass breakdown of PS3's wouldn't we have game stores across the world stating as such?
Instead, we're going off Blogs and forum posts. The problem with those? Anyone can say they've had a broken PS3.
I c...
This concerns me.
If this can result in people filing suits against companies who've released titles with bugs in, then isn't it possible, that developers may shy away from bringing new titles to the region, in fear of such?
I'm all for less buggy games, but not less games over-all.
I sincerely hope that if this -is- true, and those pictures were in fact real, that it was just a prototype.
I already own a PS3, but that "thing" we saw was absolutely hideous.
The game doesn't interest me in the slightest... However, it's obvious some amount of effort went into making it, so it deserves to sell a little.
There's a good chance MGS4 will go to 360; Which will be a shame, as it just shows the watering down of the libraries of -both- consoles.
A console is defined by the games you can play on it, that can't be played anywhere else, not by multi-platforms and exclusive DLC. So in essence, this is taking away from both platforms, by making a console defining game "just another game"
Exclusives and different libraries fuel the industry to make better games, and no...
No. It probably tries to install Adobe.
There's no virus, and the financial report is pretty clear and definitely from Namco Bandai.
It's a PDF file, so the only real way to look at it is install the program.
I'm personally more worried about the Wii
It released 5 times the amount of software [15 vs 3 each on PS3/Xbox] yet only managed to knock out 1 million more units more than the PS3.
Evidently, the Wii isn't exactly performing well for them either, with what looks like a rather poor attach ratio.
Still, surprised to see Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm sold 640k, that's a pretty healthy number for a Naruto game
Considering Capcom, the guys behind MH3, are actually developing 6 more titles for PS3, and 4 more titles for 360 than their are for the Wii, your comment comes off as a bit... uninformed.
There's actually little evidence that many developers are moving to the Wii and abandoning the HD systems, in fact, the opposite seems to ring true, with more and more efforts being placed on the HD consoles.
While the Wii is the market leader this time around, it's been clearly ev...
And where is it written, that you can't have great graphics -and- great gameplay?
It'd certainly be nice to have both now, wouldn't it?
Eurogamer - What are you showing at E3?
R* - Oh, we're showing this, and this and that. Oh we may as well do the show here, and now!
Honestly people, if Rockstar are going to be at E3, then they're -obviously- going to show -something-
Why on earth would they tell everyone beforehand? It'd destroy the point of being at E3 in the first place
Is it a level pack, like the MGS4 one, or is it just some more costumes?
According to the article, you need a PSP to enable this feature for use by PC/Mac or what have you anyway, so really, I just don't understand why you wouldn't just use your PSP.
Everything you listed is possible with the same PSP you'd -have- to use to enable this anyway.
It just seems like a way to avoid using the PSP to do it, when it seems the PSP would be the better choice to use it anyway.
Also, I'm not hating. I own a PS3 and PSP. I use Remote Pla...
I don't get the point? If you need a PSP to enable it then why not just do it over your PSP?
Everything you can do via this way, can be done via the PSP, and I'm sure it's probably more stable via the PSP too...
Just seems like a waste of time
Well, considering this whole article is based on an interview he gave to a Playstation magazine, I wouldn't think so
