Bizarre. With peculiar junction system, magic drawing from enemies, and Rinoa suddenly fell in love to Squall make VIII one of the worst Final Fantasy.
Returnal was the last test for Housemarque from Sony, so was Spiderman for Insomniac, and maybe, The Order 1886 was for Ready at Dawn.
You're not alone. Everytime MS hyping their games, it just doesn't reach me, not even one of their 6 games. Ah, well, i guess maybe Xbox fans feel the same way when they see Sony's announcement.
I used to buy MS's consoles (Xbox og and Xbox360), they've gone in a specific direction after that with their established IPs.
Same here. Very very picky now. Not only because of lack of time, but also preference and priority. Single Player by Sony and 3rd party AAA games by Japanese developers (Capcom, Square, BandaiNamco) are my default choices. That's why gaming subscription don't really matter to me. In the end i only play a few titles a year.

Well...he said "which console to buy", and in the meantime, to build a PC, when processor's price rise to 50% and GPU 100%-300%, or not available at all in my country, is never easy. Economically, buying Xbox or PS5 are more feasible.

Statistically, it's not that bad, that's already 2:1 software attachment in only 6 months for you. You'll have next 5 or 6 years after that.
I don't see any significant difference, 1-2 frame disparity on both consoles are just normal and they're dynamically changing, sometimes PS5 above XSX and vice versa, and i can't understand why the narration is XSX version is above PS5? to put it short they're just identical...

Love them or hate them, Nintendo's philosophy is "Lateral Thinking with Withered Technology" or "a creatively cheapskate" philosophy.
Wii isn't HD, WiiU isn't significantly powerful compared to PS3, 3DS's TN screen were garbage, and Switch...only a small step forward of WiiU. So don't expect they'll sell you cutting edge technology.
It's just because you're getting older, less time to play and other major distractions (partner, family, work, socmed, internet, other consoles/PC, etc...)
I don't know about losing roots or anything, from PS1 to PS4 i always play their games, not complaining at all. Maybe there are no roots in the first place, just productivity.
I'm still confused using Xbox Gamepad just because it has reversed buttons to Nintendo's controller conventional placement (Xbox->ABXY, Nintendo->BAYX). If playing on Xbox, when a game has QTE's, i always gets nervous suddenly. SNES's button placement stuck in my head even for now.
Software wise, N64 had the quality but Playstation had both quality and quantity
