Yup. If the strategy doesnt work, all they have to do is to change their mind, publish the games on PC, and they still win anyway.
It's Starbugs
Some (older) people might be playing retrogames (PS1/PS2/DC/GC, etc) than newer games right now occupying their time, just like me.
My list right now and later :
1. The Last Story
2. Suikoden
3. Baten Kaitos
4. Several SEGA 90's/2000's racing games
5. RE Zero
Oh yeah, i want to revisit Final Fantasy IX too...
Too many retrogames i haven't finished, don't really care about newer games.
Looks interesting, if only it's not first person perspective...
Being late doesn't mean they're not going to profit at all.
Playstation brand will play role.
Xbox might be strong in the US, but the term "Playstation" for videogaming has been replacing "Nintendo" in Asia since late 90's. Everyone knows Playstation, Xbox is a stranger here and the main franchise here isn't CoD or Western RPGs.
(Even with only) Marketing needs funds, sometimes as big as the cost of the development itself.
Akira Yuki is a Bajiquan practitioner who disguised as a Karateka.
I'm already tired with this kind of marketing, just show me the game.
They grow up with mobile apps, such is inevitable
Because that 5 (now 6) people said goodbye
Well yes, just as you said. Xbox will always be profitable because every spending is done by Microsoft, yet they include the revenue/profit for Xbox.
I don't know what the real financial report showed, but many people are misled by the narrration that Xbox profits 2nd largest while at the same time, buying Bethesda and Activision for almost 80b. That doesn't make any sense.
Be positive, Konami include the MT as the true horror itself in Silent Hill.
My opinion, might not be very accurate thoghh
1. PC have backward compatibility by default.
2. Bluray drive wasn't cheap in mid 2000s. Using DVD would need multiple discs. Digital came as a solution, cheaper and become a new standard, while Sony took a loss for every PS3 made.
3. And the most important thing, PC ecosystem are open, unlike console. Higher possibility for preservation for personal use or even illegal distribution.
75% of Xbox's sales are Series S, that means -at least- 75% Xbox's customers go digital only. This is how Microsoft "educate" the customers to go digital only.
Yeah...and for series X/S too...
I remember reading comment from someone "don't underestimate pc gamer's patience" reacting to +2 years Sony's games release after console.
PC game devs have the right to decide their own minimum requirement, that's the difference...
RPG (or JRPG) in Sony was handled by Japan Studio (SCEJ), after absorbed by Asobi, Sony doesn't have division that handles RPG anymore, i hope team Asobi is preparing something righ now. As for Western RPG franchise, i think Sony doesn't have any to begin with.
It was a good game, but....just good, not great nor it interesting. Maybe the background of the characters aren't well told, lack of lore, just start and play. I gave it 8. Good but easily forgettable. Yeah you may call it mediocre. NT is quite talented, but they lack something.
If they truly deliver they will raise the bar
