I may not have played the originals until MGS3: Subsistence, but the first time I got my hands on the original Metal Gear Solid at launch, I was hooked. I love the series, and I really loved MGS4. Sure, there are things I would have changed, but the game still totally delivered way past my expectations.
I think it was pretty important. Whether they make another Metal Gear game or not, they wrapped up the story of Solid Snake, and damn near every other character in the series. It's not often that you see a series as old and as complex as Metal Gear come to a real conclusion.
Judging by my disagrees, it seems there are at least 4 people who need their sarcasm detectors fixed.
Frankly, I'm sick of these articles that pop up from time to time with their fancy facts and reality. We all know Blu-Ray is dead, and that it's going to be removed from the PS3 soon. Baseless opinion pieces say so everyday on N4G.
Some of it looks better, but other parts not so much. Looks pretty damn impressive either way, and if the beta was any indication, it's gonna be really fun too.

Doom and gloom aside, they have to get their marketing department to wake the f@#k up. Yeah, yeah, they've got that new commercial with the henpecked man, and the others with the games cast on the walls/t-shirts, but I see 360 commercials that flat out say "the 360 has the best games", followed by "now only $199". If I were among the uninformed, wallet-toting masses, there's no way I'd buy a PS3 over the 360.

Never thought I'd see something so intelligent and well-written come from Kotaku. Seems fitting that it would come from a user and not the staff.
If a 360 fell off a shelf in Japan, Kotaku would claim Microsoft won the console war and setup a live feed in the store for round-the-clock footage of the spot where it happened.
It's just how Kotaku rolls, which would be all fine and dandy, but they put themselves out there as neutral gaming journalists, which craps on both the idea of neutrality and journalism.
Good to see more recognition for that title and Media Molecule, and it's really good to see Criterion as a runner-up for best studio. After the free and substantial additions Burnout Paradise has seen this year, they deserve way more recognition than they're getting from gaming media.

I might have to give it to LittleBigPlanet, but if there were any two games I'd have to choose between, it would be LBP and Dead Space. Both were very good, and Dead Space wasn't on my radar at all until after it came out.
